The only suitable car to replace my na evora was an evora s
For me, I sold an Excel when the Evora was launched, had an N/A for 3.5 years. Came close to swapping for a GTE, but decided against.

I didnt see a swap to an S as worthwhile, too much to change for too little gain. Partly this was the reason I didn't go with the GTE. Had it had a Komotec or something I might have). Finally ended up with my 400 Hethel Edition. Had they not done the HE and had I not got the deal I did on it, I'd still have the N/A.

Can't see me changing it for anything available currently. Plan is to have it for years.
I went to a newer car, 2014 sports racer. It is noticably quicker than the n/a IMO,

Rockin - c7 is pants inside. I like the grand sport but out of budget.
When, where and what model of Vette caused you to form that opinion? It sounds out of date. The Euro cars (or 3LT package) have full leather interior, head up display and all the toys you could wish for.

Why do you like the Grand Sport? It's very W-I-D-E and no quicker than the narrower car - any gain in lap times only arises if you specify the hugely expensive racing brake option.

The reviews and pics of it inside make it look a pretty cheap. Clearly I would need to see one and sit in one. The grand sport looks like a good all rounder from a sports car perspective and the interior looks better as well.

I think you're making a mistake there. Having owned various sportscars I can tell you "wide-bodied" Corvettes like Z06 or Grand Sport are probably bigger than you want for use in the UK.

For your budget you're pretty close to a C7 Stingray Corvette - the latest model - in full European spec'. The car's almost exactly the same dimensions as Evora except with an additional 4" of length and weighing just a little more with that thumping 460 bhp V8 motor. Comes with a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed auto as may float your boat.

Check out Performance Car Of The Year from American magazine Road & Track on this link,

"in full European spec" Will there be a right hand drive version?

Ok, worth a pop when the time comes then. I do like styling if the exterior. The reviews of the grand sport are very good. I'll do some digging about the c7.

Sorry, I appreciate you were looking for a newer lower mileage car. I was really referring to a relatively straight swap. With a £5k difference in screen price between an N/A and an "S" you could easily lose £8k on a virtually like for like exchange. I didn't really feel the difference was that marked so as to justify.

If you have other reasons to change anyway, then it is of course a different matter.

Anyway, we are in agreement. The only replacement for an Evora, is an Evora. The only thing that even came close for me was a 4C, but about 30 seconds sat in one and you notice how naff the interior is, and it's only a 2 seater. (Am I the only one who thinks that the 4C is a little too close for comfort tothe Evora in appearance).

In the price bracket you mention Stuno, only the likes of the F430 hold their price well, and thats only as long as the bubble doesnt burst. The Porkers depreciate fast unless you buy one of the more exotic models, and its not surprising since every second dentist and estate agent owns one. I was a bit surprised recently looking at F type prices since they dont seem to have moved much in the last year. Astons are like Porkers but I cant comment on the Evora itself.

But coming back to the main question, its really an issue of what floats your boat. I wouldnt consider a Lambo or an R8 but thats my personal choice.

Sold my 2011 Evora S about 28 months ago. Since then had way too many cars, but some that have been mentioned :-

- Jag F Type V6S - lasted 3 weeks before I sold it. Nice car but too lardy for me.
- Lotus Exige V6S - cracking car , was epic for Swiss Alps trip.

Then back in Aug I made the mistake of test driving an Evora 400. Just fell in love again with the the Evora and the sound the car makes now is insane. Manual was great but was more impressed with the Auto, which didn't feel to far off the F Type for speed of change. The auto blip on downshifts just makes me laugh. I wasn't initially sold on the revised looks from the photos, but in the flesh it looked stunning. Deal was done and haven't looked back. Still smiling every trip in the car.

Like you OP I'm struggling to think of next car. R8 does nothing for me. Only car worth considering would be a McLaren 540C , but big jump in price.

Got to love the Evora smile

The only cars I have found I would test drive as possible replacements when the time comes are the 991 gts (more out of 911 curiosity than wanting own one), c7 as mentioned above as it ticks a lot of boxes but is LHD and Aston v8v s. Then I will no doubt just boost the power in my Evora and keep it. I have sat in and seen a few 400' s but I just don't have the same feeling for them that I had when I first sat in my sports racer. If I had the money a maclaren would be next, no hesitation.

Various "normal" cars run alongside the above at various times.

How do you find the 400 compared to the sports racer? I'd be interested to get your ownership experience comparing the two.

I'm no expert on cars, I just enjoy driving.

The main difference for me is I prefer the styling on the 400, it also sounds awesome when in sports mode.

Plus you get all this extra:-

1. 55 BHP extra
2. 42 KG lighter
3. Charge cooler
4. Drive, sport, race and off driving modes
5. Easier to get in and out of.

The 400 seems to divide opinion styling wise and I prefer the s1. Glad you are enjoying it.
