I went from Evora S to 991 C2S.
The Porsche isn't as special to drive as the Evora but it is better built and faster. I was restricted on choices like the OP due to the fact I needed rear seats for the kids and the choice is not massive.
Faster? Really cant be much in it on the road. The Porsche isn't as special to drive as the Evora but it is better built and faster. I was restricted on choices like the OP due to the fact I needed rear seats for the kids and the choice is not massive.

Its a lot faster mate. I know its only 50 bhp but I think the torque must be higher in the 991 as well.
If you have the manual it is identicle 0-60 but the PDK is just under 4 seconds.Evora s is 244bhp per tonne
991 carera s is 282bhp per tonne
991 also had 30 more lbs feet of torque so while not that much quicker the extra torque will give it more grunt. I'll most likely be going the komotec route to 410 or 430 route as far cheaper than buying a 991
Fastest laps also reckon the 991 C2S is faster, but lets face it, its also more expensive
Just specced one to match as near as possible my Sports Racer S and 991 comes in at £87k
Siimilar spec Evora 400 is £80k but then the 400 is quicker than the C2S unless you spec PDK
All this is as far as I can tell using manufacturers websites

Which is why komotec is so great. For 5.5k the Evora s will be as fast if not faster than the pdk 991 and will have the rarity, handling, feel etc Just specced one to match as near as possible my Sports Racer S and 991 comes in at £87k

Worth that alone to avoid Porsche
As I said right at the start of the thread the model and spec I would want to make a 911 feel special is 80k ish in 991 gts spec. Where the lotus Evora s delivers so well is the special feeling it offers from a drivers persepctive and for me there is little compromise. The only element i really prefer of the 991 is the interior fit and finish. The Evora is a bargain for what it offers. As always it's each to their own. Tuned Walkinshaw VXR8 Bathurst S 600 BHP to Lotus Evora back to Different Bathurst S VXR8 with 640bhp within 6 months. Corners are not as much fun, but bye bye time on the straights. For me I can't beat a supercharged cammed modified 6.2 ltr V8 for fun. Lotus dealer was simply appalling that didn't help, as were getting spares from Lotus.

Corners is where the fun is at for meYou were unlucky. I have had no issues getting any parts from lotus, love steering feel and handling worth it for any niggles although I am sure the noise of that 6.2 is alright?
I have a modified Elise S1 Sport 160, Caterham Superlight and Cayman GT4 as fun cars at the moment.
I have a newborn so think I should get something more practical. Think I will keep the Seven and Elise but may sell the Porsche.
Potentially move to a 996/997. Or I quite fancy a 105 with TS engine. Or a FD2 R. Or a Clio Trophy, W126 etc...quite a few options!

Goal is a classic Lotus Eleven + a Lotus daily driver. On the market for an Elise S1 and already have half of the cash for an Eleven.
I started with an Exige S (18 months) then got a Caterham Academy (daily driver for the past 8 years). Now moved to France, sold the caterham and looking to get back into Lotus through an Elise S1 and hopefully adding the Eleven in 5 years. Then I will be happy and need nothing more. However, if I did win the lottery, I'd happily add a Lotus 49 F1 to the stable <3

Its a personal choice Stuno. To me, the Lotus is an "enthusiasts " car whilst the 911 is simply a well engineered well performing but pretty ordinary car. Many of those you see on the roads dont belong to petrolheads but to your local doctor / dentiust / property developer etc. Bought for the badge.
I had a 430 and that was very much an "enthusiasts" car. I've gone to an Ftype S which is not, but which will do as a continential touring car for a couple of years. When that goes it will be back to something that grabs me, most likely another Ferrari.
To put it another way, which of those cars makes you smile when you go into the garage? Which is special? Not which is fastest or which is best engineered.
P.S., You might add a Morgan Aero to your list. And no it isnt wood chassis etc etc. Its structire is very similar to the Evora, the engine is a BMW V8, it weighs much the same as the Evora and its really characterful.
