Hi,

I've posted this elsewhere but as above - anyone not a million miles away from Norfolk got either of these exhausts fitted and won't mind me coming for a ride and having a listen?

I'm after a new exhaust at some point as I find the standard too quiet/uninteresting in sport mode. The non sport is fine (nice and quiet)

Thanks

Unfortunately, I can't help you due to location & that my Evora is now SORN'ed, but I can tell you I was disappointed with the Larini exhaust.

I had one + dump value added to my Evora and personally, I did not think much of it.

Thanks Alex, what was disappointing about it? the sound, or something else?

The sound. It was quieter than I hoped.

Thats interesting. I love the Larini back box on my S. It provides an epic sound when the valve opens and in sport but it is quiet and not intrusive in normal mode and when the vavle is closed. It's considerably louder than stock. Maybe it also depends on if your car has the 3rd cat removed.

I have an S.

I think I just need to get a ride in a car with these. Its the only way I think. I'm leaning towards a 2bular purely for pops and cracks on the overrun, but the Larini sounds better on the idle.

Have you got the straight through pipe to replace the 3rd cat? Or is your car a later one without it as standard?

I have just found that my car has the straight through pipe but is still a bit too quiet. I had bought a 2Bular straight through pipe which is now redundant.

I'm starting to suspect the issue is more the charisma / nature of the sound from an inherently smooth V6 than the actual volume.

Back box and headers. Problem solved. If it keep my car longer than I intend to I'll be getting Larini headers and sports cat. Coupled with the 3rd cat delete this will be a lovely sound.

Its got the 3rd cat replaced with a straight through. Which exhaust have you got? As you know the 400 sounds epic (IMO) and its the same engine.

Don't forget that you won't get on track with a 2bular. If you ever receive it, that is. wink

Mine is same as you by the sounds of it. Standard manifolds and box (S model with valve) and the straight pipe.

400s are much louder, I'm still not over keen on the sound (Though far, far more dramatic than mine). The only thing I miss about my old 911 compared to the Evora is the noise. And I don't think it was volume, but the actual tone / noise. Can't really think of many V6s where I particularly like the sound. I'll be going for a full system sooner or later but it will still sound like a V6.

It really does sound great with the Larini system on the s with 3rd cat delete. If any of you come near Chelmsford and I am available i am happy to show you. My mate has 997 3.8 c2s and even he said it sounds great but yes it will always be a v6.

If you want a video of it, let me know. I might be able to start my car and give it a little rev to get the sounds done. But would have to be towards the end of the month.

Thanks for the offer Alex, however I'm looking try get rides as I can only tell so much from the videos I've already seen. I've got the lotus sports and Komotec exhausts covered, just trying to find Larini and 2bular.

Anyone heading to the Duxford meet?

Yes, but not in the Evora.

Awwwwwwww - poor little Johnny Snowflake didn't get his 70mm 2bular and had to settle for an ickle 63mm Larini. I guess all the happy 2bulars posting on TLF really rips your knickers Johnnykins - hope you get over it soon.

You really should stay off the sauce before you post, Jim. Otherwise, you are just going to drive away yet more customers.

Oh, you're also wrong, BTW.
