Anyone know roughly how much the shipping would be from South of England to South of Spain?

Also what is involved and the costs to get it onto Spanish plates?

Like the used cars in Spain, motorbikes seem overpriced and under serviced .scratchchin

I'll be watching this with interest, as I'm looking to do the same.

Transport wise you could give this guy a try ged.htransport@gmail.com I used them last year to send my Lambo back to the UK from Duquesa, and was happy with the service and price, they're based in Fuengirola.

Cheers

I paid 400€ last year door to door, for a 1200cc bike from the Midlands to Mallorca. So I think it should be cheaper to you, as the ferry from Barca to Mallorca is the same price as the Portsmouth Bilbao ferry!
No idea what it´s going to cost to put it on Spanish plates though.

Keep us posted.

Regards,
Mick.

These people bring transport of any description between the U.K. to the Balearics principally Ibiza weekly and are excellent I used them for transporting furniture, cars & bikes, nothing has been too much trouble for them.

Getting it onto Spanish plates...

You will need to pass a ITV, they are pretty strict [around here anyway]and will probably want to see the lights changed and a few other wierd things. Any non EU market [i.e. JDM]imports are a nightmare/impossible. They can also be funny about non standard parts, just ask car owners about towbars... only factory fitted is easy to get through.

Under 10 years old you pay a descending % of the purchase price as Tax, otherwise it is easy enough I believe, probably worth paying a Gestor to do the fiddly bits.

Forgot how to quote all...

Thanks for all replies.
Have found these people who quoted 420 quid & VAT door to door. Seems a bit dear but will serve as a reference point.

http://www.bikemoverseurope.co.uk/

I will E mail Jiggins Transport and see how they compare.

I am not a biker, but am planning ahead for a surprise birthday present for my wife who used to own a Honda Shadow. The plan is to buy a used Harley-Davidson Sportster.

I was kind of hoping that the headlights on UK / Spanish motorbikes would be the same, so that could be an added hassle.

After years of living in Spain with a mildly modified car, I am very familiar with all the problems which arise at ITV time (swapping back suspension, exhaust, bumper etc etc). The trouble with used Harleys seems to be that many are modified in some way, so will lead to more ITV woes. Will have to choose carefully.

Hi, probably a bit late now, but I use a chap who goes back and forth to England roughly every 6 weeks and he has collected many items for me ( wheels etc bought on flea-bay). He also brought over a Kawasaki zx9r just before last Xmas. Charges between €200 and€250.
Had my zrx110 kwak put onto Spanish a couple of years ago for about €600 (z3 bmw cost €1100). Hope this helps.

I forget what I paid, but it was around the figures quoted by others in this thread. Luckily, a motorbike is substantially cheaper than other types of vehicles. I'd recommend calling up a company and asking for a price quote--most give them out at no charge and then you'll have a firm answer. I've used a1 auto transport in the past and recommend them, but I'd call all the companies mentioned in this thread and ask what they offer, charge, etc. Hope this helps .
