Yes me hopefully, will be at Gaudix next month March, in my Caterham 7 white and blue. come over and say hello if u see me.
Ascari is a great day out, track is great fun to be on, 26 corners, all of them copys of some of the best corners, taken from some of the greatist tracks around the world, inc the Corkscrew, which really isnt a good copy, more a chinease one;)
Great buffet for lunch,,
Hope to do the hole seasons time attack.

Will definitely do so, will be in a Black Exige myself and also aim to do the full day (should my tyres hold out that long).

You wouldn't happen to know a place where I could to pick up a set of slicks and rent a trailer in the Gib-Marbs area by any chance? I noticed from the previous events photos most cars are on them, and I'd love to feel what the Lotus is like on them.

Great collection of classic Lotus cars you have there, is the 23b a replica?
I will look out for you.
Avon is the brand of slicks i use on the Caterham, medium compond, you can ring them direct and they will send you a set out. tell them the size of wheel you run and they will recomend the size of slick thats best.
I have the same problem at the moment as my flat bed has brocken down.
My mate will take my slicks and wheels in his car, im driving the Caterham there on the road tyers, and swopping wheels and tyres when im there.
If we could find a two car trailer I would share the costs with you as im in Soto to.

Hi guys,

I am living in Portugal and want to do some track days this year ( I used to do a lot in the UK ). It seems the track day scene is bigger in Spain than here in Portugal.

I am going to Guadix next week and Monteblanco is not too far from me and looks fun, so I will book up there too.

A couple of questions if I may; which track day companies do you use/recommend and where can I book up for the Ascari days you mention ? I checked the 103 Octanos site but couldn't find a booking form ? ( admittedly I cannot read in Spanish too well :-) )

Thanks.

Thanks, the 23B is an original '62 car, (a legit original, with the chassis, engine and body that it left the factory with), many are more or less recreations built around an original chassis plate.

I'm in for sharing the trailer if we can find one, although I'll be hard pressed to source a set of rims & slicks between now and the 19th. It might not be the worst idea to take it a bit easy this time as its been 2 years since I've been on track.

Hi;

This is going to be my first track day in Spain so can't really recommend any one company. 103Octanos organise the FIA homologated Andalusian Circuit Championship, so thats a decent endorsement.

To book on 103Octanos:

>Go to the event page: http://www.103octanos.com/index.php/tandas-trackda...

>Click the link at the bottom of the post next to "Inscripción: Rellenar el formulario:" It'll take you to a google doc ( http://goo.gl/Nc93C8 )

> Fill in your details to book your spot. Your booking will be finalised when they receive payment as the bank details/paypal provided.

They're not too good at sending confirmation emails back, so I emailed them a week or so later to double check that my spot was secured.

I'm also looking at the Monteblanco event, but have some work trips coming up so need to ensure that they don't clash.

Thanks for the info Jan, especially about how to book a day on the 103 website. Appreciate your help.

I've been to quite a few of their events since around 2010. Unfortunately the introduction of a child meant I had to get all sensible and buy a school run car instead frown I've been at all the Ascari events but with a simulator instead of driving.

They are always very busy and can be quite a shock if you're used to the UK style of trackdays (overtaking seems to be OK anywhere and it feels more like a race at times). Everything is timed and the days are now dominated by proper trackday/race cars instead of the tuned Leon TDi of the early days. The days are properly run though and the organisers are great guys smile

It's worth noting that most of the racetracks also do their own days, I attended a VIP day at Guadix that only had about 15 cars and hired a Radical Prosport for the day, top fun and far more relaxing than the frantic pace of an Octanos day (although you might enjoy that of course!)

Thanks for the reply Andy.

Funnily enough I was at Guadix at the weekend. They run a tight ship and I had a very enjoyable couple of days. I am planing on going back there soon. Hopefully see you there.

I appreciate the heads up regarding the td organiser and to be honest your experience ties in with one or two of the videos I have seen !! I do not mind fast days as long as there is a decent standard of respect for the other drivers.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
