i´d assume that it does, its not the fact that its france or spain, its just that it´ll be after brexit - thats the kicker - going from a non-european country to a european one.

I´ve not checked back here for a few days, i´m surprised to see so much activity here

Stop posting rubbish.Free movement or not,as a Brit moving abroad you have to jump through hoops. It’s called moving abroad.
I´m sure that we can both agree that the procedure after Brexit will be alot more difficult - at the moment you can come here without a job and apply for residency when you find employment. After brexit you´ll need something like 30k each in the bank and 500 each income a month.

Theres been several threads popping up on expat forums recently (after brexit) about people being refused residency status, and even people being sent back to the uk / not being allowed to fly to spain because of not having the 'right' bit of paper, even tho they have lived here for years.

My kids are at a Spanish international school and I know 2 families who travelled back to Spain last week from UK. None had a problem. I think these news stories are exaggerating things (as usual).

As for Spanish residency (if you want it) is still easy. You just now need to provide healthcare and/or job/income which is fair enough.

Even with Brexit it will still be easy in reality to decide whether resident or non resident suits someone better if they are planning to alternate between countries. Decision should be made on taxes as everything else can be sorted to suit.

3 months back up in Malaga/Alicante provinces right now apparently to get your official residents card. Less in other provinces.

There are two threads running at the moment on Britishexpats.com - one of a guy who was denied residency, even tho he lived here in december. The other of someone who has been living here for 14 years and never became resident, and now finds that she doesn´t meet the requirements.
