Any particular reason? Thinking of taking it on perhaps? Could you flick it on to me too, please? I'd like to see what I'm getting myself in for before agreeing to doing a stint!

Seriously though....simpler means you'll have to spend more time actually doing it all manually which with 34 contestants (last years starting point) is a lot of data entry and cross-checking for errors in peoples points earned at each matchday (and of course cummulatively) and that their league position is correct etc etc etc. You will need to automate as much as possible or you'll be working on the spreadsheet for hours each weekend. You'll also have to be able to go back and change it all a few weeks later when some smart-arse realises that you mis-calculated his points for 3 matchdays back and he was due 5 points and not 4 UNLESS you've automated it so that manual errors are not really possible. The fixtures tab can be completed in one go for the season ahead by cut 'n' pasting the whole seasons fixtures from the BBC's fixtures website once the FA publish them. This'll help you make sure that all 380 games are forecast in the season. Try and do it manually and you're sure to miss some fixture on a wet Tuesday in deep winter. You should try to always be one-step ahead of the game where the fixtures are concerned and that tab helps. On the Results tab you simply copy the Matchday fixtures from the fixtures tab into the cells with the Yellow fill colour and then key in the actual results also into the yellow cells next to the fixtures. Once you keyed in everyones forecasts (do this as they post them to save time and tell you who hasn't forecast yet) then the spreadsheet calculates everyones points earned. Then follow the instructions on the League tab in cells B33 to B34 and M34 to M52. Actually...I could post bloody pages on this ...if you want to develop your own then that might be the best way forward - just cull what you need from mine (if anything). Otherwise ring me and I can talk you through it. Good luck guys

Feck me! I have a new found respect for you im* after seeing that you've been doing pretty much all of this manually - no vba code at all!
You are still Spurs fan, so that still isn't a lot :P

Its was all about inputting in a predetermined order. Then you can use Excels functionality to do a lot of it (Data Sorting, VLOOKUP, Cell Referencing etc etc). The formulas are already inserted to calculate Matchday points. Now if you can come up with some super-duper coding that creates a nice looking league table by taking a pre-existing table and adding that Matchdays points then its pretty much job done. Thats the manual bit that was a pain.

Good luck with that Whilst MOUS certified 13 years ago and with a basic knowledge of VBA its not something that is a pre-requisite for Accountancy so its become a faded memory. Recording Macros (VBA on autopilot) is as far as I go.
