Benteke leaving has been in the pipeline since he started doing well for us, a couple of seasons now. I doubt he'll be at Villa next season whether we stay up or not. If he scores so many we stay up he deserves a big move and hopefully the fee gets reinvested into half decent players.

I don't really mind if Benteke goes at the end of the season. As long as we stay up, someone hopefully will come in and buy out Lerner and we can kick on and do something positive. I'm fed up with villa being st laugh

Gosh, that was a game wasn't it?
My first visit to Villa Park this year. Benteke was on fire in the first half & Villa should have been at least 3 goals up before half time. Richardson was bloody awful & we'll need to tighten up. We SHOULD stay up but it'll be tight
I saw on Twitter last night "Player ratings coming up shortly, if you're a member of the Richardson family probably best to unfollow now." laugh

I think Sherwood will do an excellent job at the Villa, I know a lot of spurs fans will say i'm talking rubbish, but there is little doubt that Kane, Benteleb & Mason whom are first choice regulars for us would probably have been nowhere near the starting XI if it hadn't been for him.

He says what he thinks & seems an honest kind of chap & i think he will get lots more out of the players than you're last chap.

I hope he does well.

Before the game, I really thought we'd have to get lucky to win today. Every player for Villa put in an incredible performance. Grealish looked an established member of the team, not a teenager. Cleverley was brilliant, winning it in midfield consistently and putting in the hard graft effectively.

Man of the match, captain Delph was amazing. I think his signing a contract extension earlier this season was a massive catalyst for our turn around in form and fortune. Our most prized asset for sure now. I do think Benteke will leave in the summer, but he's served us well and credit to him and Sherwood for the turnaround lately, he's earned a move to a club fighting higher up than we currently are.

It's half time in the FA cup semi-final. The last semi-final the Villa won was on the day of Princess Senior's christening in 2000. The party was "at home", so I rigged up a portable crt telly in the garage so that the menfolk could discreetly retreat at polite intervals to catch up on proceedings, one or two at a time, so I thought.

It went to a penalty shootout; there must have been 30 plus males in the garage nuts
Delph, Benteke, Grealish (what a talent he could be) and Vlaar and Given faultless; thanks chaps thumbup

Superb win. Benteke, Delph and Grealish were phenomenal. So gutted I wasn't at Wembley though, the fans really did us proud, didn't really hear the 'pool fans all game!

A fine victory, I got the impresssion that Liverpool players thought that just turning up and winning would be a mere formality. I had a cheeky tenner on Villa at 5/1 at kick off too, paid for my afternoon in the pub!

I don't honestly think we can be Arsenal, but who knows, "the romance of The FA Cup(tm)" and all that.

Kudos to Sherwood for taking a team that looked scared into one that looks like it wants to win in such a short space of time.

3-2 flattered Everton, a very soft penalty and Given impeded for their 2nd, could easily have been 3-0. SOTC!
