No it doesn't match it, it betters it. The competition wasn't so stacked in the favour of the clubs with such vast financial resources in the 1970's as it is now.

The competition is designed to favor the financial power houses such as; Man City, Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs. These clubs are seen as sexy and help to sell the brand overseas. This wasn't the same in the 1970's there were hardly any televised games then or the media exposure that there is now.

And I speak as a fan of one of the 'big' clubs.

Makes me laugh that so many supporters of other teams were willing Leciester to do it, but now that they have it just seems to be bitterness and sniping

Have to disagree with you about 'best writer in the business'.

Fatty Samuels has a massive bias towards his beloved Hammers. I wouldn't piss on the tosser if he was on fire.

I met a blind fella, with his guide dog, in Malton at lunchtime wearing an old school Leicester shirt.

He was grinning from ear to ear. I passed on my my congratulations and you could tell it really hadn't quite sunk in and maybe wouldn't for a few days yet. Lovely.

  • Apparently* the Xhamster hamster is now wearing a Leicester strip.
They don't do that for Chelsea. Or so I'm told.

what is your record against the top four / five?
Leics:

Beat City away 3-1 - drew 0-0 at home - 4 pts

Drew with Utd away 1-1 and home 1-1 as well - 2 pts

Lost to Arsenal 2-5 at home and lost 2-1 away - 0 pts

Lost 1-0 to Liverpool away and beat them 2-0 at home - 3 pts

Beat Spurs 1-0 away and drew 1-1 at home - 4 pts

Drew with West Ham 2-2 at home and won 2-1 away - 4pts

So not bad and not great - 17pts from a possible 36pts ...

It doesn't help that the majority of commentators & reports (whilst congratulating Leicester) are also reminding everyone that all the "big" clubs within the league have had a disaster season, hence it was almost made slightly easier for the likes of Leicester etc to punch way above their weight. The manager & players have all agreed that this will probably never happen again & I think the bookies have higher odds of them being relegated rather than being in the top 5 next season.

My comments are nothing more than banter as I am over the moon that a small club like Leicester could achieve such recognition for what they have achieved what ever the circumstances.

Lol, I don't think that thread title will ever stop surprising me.

Did you ever think that by the end of the season, Leicester of all clubs would win the bloody league. Brilliant!
