What would you rather?

Finish just above the relegation zone in the premier league year in and year out
Yoyo between the premier league and championship but win the Premier League in one of the most remarkable seasons of sporting history
I would rather yoyo between divisions and win the premiership once. If we have a chance to change manager and avoid that, that's the best option. With Claudio we would have gone down and he wouldn't have got us back up. The team spirit was gone, he was making questionable decisions, not giving certain players a fair chance and he was coming out and telling the fans that everyone was fighting for the cause when it was evident the camps split.

The team spirit has gone because they all think there bobby big bks after last year and rather than getting fired up and fighting there sulking and feeling sorry for themselves.

2016 was awesome but so much of that was down to big clubs under performing .

You don't know he wouldn't have saved you, you don't know he wouldn't have got you back up. Your spineless players have stopped playing for him and he was doing his utmost to instill that togetherness and belief when some of his players had given up. Easier to blame the manager than the players. Sorry but your players have let you all down massively this season.

This is a fking joke...

Maybe he would have kept us up, but ask the fans who go to the games, we were a shambles on the pitch. We couldn't even beat a 10 man Millwall a couple of weeks ago.

We've been on a downward curve since October.

Still, champions 2015-2016beer

No one will take that away from you but in the eyes of the majority of people you've fked up big time.

Even Lineker is giving the owners grief.

Thanks (at least in part) to the guy the club has just sacked.

Lineker who is starting to become hated in Leicester due to his stupid views. He blasted the owners for hiring Claudio then claims last night he cried when he heard the news!

I need to stop viewing this topic, feels like the only thing I've done since the news broke!

I think we can all sympathise, although far worse things have happened at sea. A multi-millionaire manager has been sacked and probably he's had his contract paid up making him even richer is not really worthy of the news. However on Lineker, you can see why he might have questioned Ranieri's appointment as he was not known in football as an achiever and yet he managed to win one of the most prized competitions in football and of course after doing that why wouldn't he be upset after hearing about Ranieri's sacking? The whole football world is pretty shocked at this. It seems only some Leicester fans have no problem with it, but you know what, I respect that. It's your team, it's certainly none of my business. But I feel for Ranieri as once again it's the players that haven't delivered and yet it's the manager who carries the can.

I sympathise with Claudio as well, I wish it ended differently. I wish we were higher up the table, I wish he walked away in the summer on a high, I wish the players were trying harder.

It's never dull being a Leicester fan!

Bet Vardy and Mahrez are still happy though with their bumper new contracts. Shame they couldn't be bothered on the pitch this season.

Every manager in the league would do the same thing. Every dressing room will be split to some degree, 20odd men are never going to love every other the same.

You keep it in house and try to work it out. You'd have been complaining the other way had he said to the media X, Y and Z players have given up.

It's a shame. Because all the goodwill has just disappeared in a flash. No wee boys wanting to be Leicester fans now. smile

Or you do what Ferguson did at Man U and ditch the biggest stirrers.

My dream has died.

After the euphoria of last season and being crowned champions, all I dreamt of was staying with Leicester. Sadly this was not to be.

The adventure was amazing and will live with me forever. My heartfelt thanks to everybody at the club, everybody who was part of what we achieved, but mostly to the supporters.

You took me into your hearts from day one and loved me. I love you too.

No-one can ever take away what we achieved together and I hope you think about it and smile every day the way I always will.

It was a time of wonderfulness and happiness that I will never forget. It's been a pleasure and an honour to be a champion with all of you.
What an absolute gent. He was class at Chelsea as well. Top man and treated terribly by the owners. Shameful.

I would blame the players first to be fair, if the media reports are true of a few going to the owners and moaning then they should be the first ones sold. Players have too much power nowadays despite being incredibly paid for often lame performances.

The chap is a class act. Something that clearly the Thai owner doesn't understand as he has none.

Very classy statement from Claudio, a top bloke, but let's not pretend the owners have kicked him and his family out onto the street, he's been given a 3 million pound pay off!

Our owners have been better than we ever expected and I trust them to make the right call.

I saw footage of him returning home after the statement and was struck by how modest a suburban house he was living in. Neighbours turned up spontaneously to express their sympathy.

Decent man in an industry (sic) that values that not a jot.

Anyway, back to our travails at Crewe...

The modest house surprised me as well although he probably has a few mansions in Italy.
