I wouldn't have thought that two months ago Leicester would be the last English team left in the Champions League but well done to them.
That says more about the general level of the EPL teams compared to their european counterparts than it does about Leicester's prowess. That is not to take anything away from Leicester. Our whole game seems to have changed, we seem to be actually pressing teams again (2nd half today aside, as the players were shattered). Maybe Claudio didn't think we could play two games a week with the CL and play as we did last season so tried to change it? There was a lot less intensity this season compared to last, but it seems to have come back ever since he was sacked.
It will be very interesting to find out what has really happened over the past two seasons for LCFC.
Obviously(?) Pearson motivated the team that he helped to create and saved us from relegation but then had a falling out with the owners. Claudio came in and was able to keep the momentum going, keeping it low key and generating a great team ethos with Vardy having a magic season. The other "big" teams never took us seriously until it was too late!
But after the PL win, Kante left and Claudio had to make changes, the "new" team did not "gell" and were coasting on their previous success, losses came, confidence went, more changes, more losses. No cohesion, backbiting and rumour mongering.......
Owners had to act and Cladio had to go as the players were now so out of synch with him.
In the meantime Craig had been trying to keep it altogether with the players and is now getting the recognition.
