Mark Hughes would satisfy!
yes I would prefer him to Keane, the odds have been changing all week with the favourite so hopefully Keane is no where near the running.

Will we get an announcement before Sunday?

Dave Jones might be a decent appointment or Billy Davis

Don't think so. Just read somewhere that your Caretaker is to be in control for this weekends game.

Heard Dave Jones has been interviewed though?

Stowell and Rudkin were always going to be incharge for Sunday, I just thought they might've announced the new manager and he'd be in the stands.

Dave Jones would be a good choice.

Looks like Nigel Pearson again then.

Are we happy?

Are we sad?...

It could definitely be worse than Pearson... I'm still rather bemused by it all though smile

Really excited by Pearsons return, I felt we lacked a lot of grit and determination, especially when we were behind. Never thought about that when he was in charge, definitely one who can lift the dressing room, and with his experience its a great appointment.

Nice to see Pearson has returned from his loan spell at Hull biggrin

They have given him a lengthy contract although they're not worth the paper they are written on nowadays.

Let's hope the squad settle quickly to the new way of playing as his game is totally different to what Sven played.

Will Waghorn return from his loan spell now Darius is out?

I wouldnt be surprised if Waghorn did return, however it depends on the loan arrangement, as I understand it I dont think you can recall a player if any fee has been paid for his loan...

We have reasonable cover up front, but another long term injury and it wouldnt look so clever. It will be interesting to see if Schlupp gets any game time under Pearson.

I personally dont like the 5 sub limit (and i'm not just saying that because we have a bigger squad than most), it reduces the chance for younger / fringe players to get a run out if the game is going well for example.

All the more reason to get promoted then!

No doubt there are clauses to Waghorns loan move but Pearson obviously likes him. Joe Hart at Birmingham 2 seasons ago, couldn't return to Man City when Shay Given was out. I think they ended up with Martin Fulop as an emergengy loan.

ETA. You say we have a bigger squad than most, infact on the squad lists at the back of the programmes we are normally smaller than the other teams, maybe all our players are good enough to start in the 11 whereas other sides have a lot of inexperienced players in their squads I don't know.

I suspect (but I am no expert on championship clubs) that we have more players who in theory at least can be classed as godo enough to be 'first teamers' a lot of clubs list a fair few kids from their academies in their squad listings, we dont have many of those really on our official listing

yup I went to the Peterborough game and left feeling so uninspired and fed up, at least with Sven we showed hints of greatness. dad went yesterday as I was at the NEC and left feeling the same as I did last time. No one signing is going to fix the team, midfield when I saw them was awful and apart from Kasper and maybe konchesky no one really showed any kind of willing to be there.

I just hope we can maybe get a winger at least (as sharp is not coming) and get some confidence in the team so the fans then get behind them! I think trying to get some of the Hull players is a joke though, why would they leave a team that are in the playoffs high on moral despite Pearson leaving for a club which is so disjointed at the moment.

Anyway I will still go and watch them and get more annoyed by the moaners sat around me that are all to quick to criticize but then never give any kind of encouragement when then have some good bursts!

could be worse..............could be Forest hehe

Defended so so poorly in this first half we deserve to be 4 down.

What Morgan and Bamba think they are doing is beyond me, constantly getting caught on the counter because they are fannying about up front.

St Ledger needs a talking to as well.

Im hoping NP gets in to them a bit at half time, because they seem over awed by the occassion.

Couldn't agree more regarding Bamba, find him rather lairy, even so with our current fine form. He is actually a midfielder which probably explains his desire to keep bouncing around up front.

Think Pearson should drop Beckford and start with Schlupp for the next four matches. Schlupp seems far more agile and eager. Beckford needs to put on weight, defenders knock him about like he's nothing! Plus at present he couldn't finish his dinner!

Some wholesale changes going on at the moment, some young talent being brought in to the club for relatively little and some big wages going. Any more movements in or out you feel?

The Championship this season looks like it will be incredibly tough, the teams that came down are very strong and still have most of their squad. The teams that came up are big clubs with a lot of quality too. The three that went down to league one were the weakest teams in the Championship by a mile, shame we wont be going to the Ricoh any more for 3 easy points biggrin

I am hoping with a solid preseason under our belts Nige will get us off to a good solid start. We have the squad quality to beat anyone so I am optimistic.

Is be surprised/disapointed if there are no more signings to come in still, especially in defence and still would like a proven winger! Some of the signings look promising and looking forward to the start of the season now! Glad to see some of the higher wages disapearing too, people moan about selling mills off cheap(er) but his wages would probably cover 2-3 younger hungry players, whilst keeping some of the older players to show them the right direction and hopefully step up when we are in a tricky situation.

Your right about it being hard this season, this league is never easy and never an easy 3 points (bar cov ) personally hope Powell does well with Charlton except when we play them obvs!

Wasn't last season the first time we had taken all 3points at the Ricoh though? So not an easy place to win at I would say.

Looking forward to the open training session next Saturday, this league does get harder every season, more so because the 3 teams that drop hardly ever bounce back up. Look how many are in the Championship now that have recently spent a season or more in the Premier league.

Nigel has the standard 12 or so matches then like Sven and Paulo had to make an impact.
