Tough luck fella's , i guess there are prices to be paid in winning the league.

£30M seems a little cheap for a player with Kante's engine compared to some of the telephone number transfers that look like happening.

In his current position I cannot see why he would want to go to another English team.
Unfortunately he's hoping to play the long game.
At 25, more chance of future Champions league and EPL titles with Chelski than with Leicester.
And more money I suspect.

the annoying thing is, if he believes he is that good (which we all do!) he could of had another fantastic season with us, even if we didnt win anything, his performances would have still captured the eye of bigger clubs. I honestly dont get Kante going chelsea, I really dont, Chesea fans probably think I sound like a Loon but to me its a backwards step for this coming season.

BUT - if thats what he wants to do then so be it, we dont want people in the squad who dont want to be here

I suspect as StuartMCFC said he is thinking that over 5 years he could win more at Chelsea then Leicester. Also this is a chance to join a big club which might not happen again.

As much as I hate saying this Chelsea are a much bigger club, have a lot more money, more trophy winning history, more potential to win trophies and play with a group of much better players.

It's funny what a little taste of success does to the fans heads.

It's typical of football these days, Leicester had a spectacular season and so the moneyed clubs target their better players in the expectation that they will reproduce that form for them. Not too many go onto bigger and better, look at Delph or Rodwell as prime examples and £30m is small change to Chelsea so it won't break them if he doesn't crack it. My own club are apparently about to nick your DoF, which (if it happens) looks like the smarter move to me, Kante could go the way of many others and falter away from what is clearly a great atmosphere and spirit at Leicester, something the likes of Chelsea and City can't buy.

As a Southampton fan I'm well used to having players poached. We never made Champions League though, so I hoped for Leicester going all the way last year would have kept the likes of Kante. To be fair if you had finished 5th Vardy would have gone I'm sure.

I never said we were bigger than Chelsea, or over 5 years would do better, but this coming season we still have an exciting squad and Champions League, what I was saying was that he could have another great season with us (with little difference in wages with the new deal) and moved on next year. Nothing big headed, just looking to carry on the fairytale of being a TEAM rather than a group of 'great players'.

Most of the problems with football is we dont ever really know why he left, he may have never settled, he may have gone for the money, he may just love chelsea. If it had been to the likes to barca or real or someone I would have understood it more, the other annoying thing is if he played for Man - u he would be valued alot higher than 32m.

If I was 25, one of the big attractions of Chelsea are that they are in London.
At twice his age, and living in Leicester, it wouldn't appeal to me but at his age you can't really compare the 2 cities.

At 28 I can't think of anything worse than living in London lol much rather live in the outskirts of Leicester. But then different people like different things.

But going back to kante, I guess most of us just hoped that players would stay and help to break this money buys anything society football has become use to. Our owners have treated Al our players better than most I suspect.

Also of talk has been about how he may just end up being a flop like so many other purchases done in a similar fashion but I honestly think he'll go on to be one hell of a player, and I dread us coming against him next season. I still wish him all the best, but still very disappointed in him leaving.

Kante gone
Walsh gone

Southampton Mk2 frown

Good to see Wes Morgan getting his contract signed though. Oh and Musa is going to be a joy to watch this season. He is quick!

There's going to be fun and games at the Leicester City training ground car park with this little lot when they try to work out who parked where!

Completely written off by the media & the bookies for the coming season, then.

33/1 to retain the title.
14/1 to be fking relegated!

And of their future Champions League campaign - seemingly a dream for most clubs, but now Leicester have achieved it, it's apparently a massive weight around their neck for the upcoming Premier league season, and something of a poisoned chalice.

You know, It's almost like they all want things to go back to how they used to be......scratchchin

Yes, Lineker will be in his underwear tonight.

Leicester not looking as impenetrable as last season and not as clinical either.

We looked a bit disorganised. Definitely missing Kante, Vardy not on song, and I think we're still coming down from last season. Too casual.
