Exactly.

Scottish football needs a strong Rangers to compete with Celtic. This is bad for Scottish football as a whole.

They cheated their way to success for around two decades with the matnra "For every five pounds Celtic spend, we will spend ten,"

It's ever so slightly sweet, when these pigeons come home to roost

They had more cash, whoopee do. I'm an Everton fan, but at no point would I want Liverpool to go into administration, and possibly disappear. It reeks, to my nose anyway.

AS a falkirk fan, this has cheered my day up no end! smile

The only sadness is that 10 points deduction doesnt go far enough, 3rd division football sounds about right!

They had more cash because they avoided tax! (maybe) !

If it's proven then all trophies should be awarded to the runners up!

Rangers wont disappear, even if the worst happended and the club went into liquidation, the fans some with plenty of cash, will ensure a pheonix club is created.

If Rangers football club cease to exist, you don't have to worry about that.

And if a new club is created in place, if they're allowed back into the league (See Airdrie, 2002) they'll come in at the bottom of the 3rd Division.

Personally don't think that'll be great for Scottish football, although i personally think Scottish football is all but dead already, the English/Spanish/Italian game is much more exciting, and costs less to watch on TV.
I think it will be a good thing. If they dont shake up scottish football to a 16 team league now they never will.

Surely a weak (or non existent) Rangers simply means even less competition, less tv money, and less gate receipts for all the other SPL teams too?

That said, football clubs are a business just like any other so have to face the consequences of any sharp practice just like the rest.

Of course Rangers won't disappear but who knows what the coming years hold for the club, looks very grim at the moment.

It puzzles me why some seem to be getting a kick out of this, the SPL is already dire without one of the big two dropping out and you would have to be pretty small minded to think that the ripples won't extend beyond Govan.

Scottish football is dead, this is a good thing because the tts on the sfa and spl board cant just sit there and ignore it no longer.

The football standard is crap, the attendances are crap, prices are a rip off and no one cares about it no more.

7 times last season falkirk played partick thistle. 3 of those 7 within 2 weeks and 2 of the games against partick were called off as I arrived at the stadium.

16 or 20 team league to start with followed by lowering admission prices.

Good job Andy Murray chose tennis.

Murray has a better chance winning grand slams than Rangers and Celtic ever qualifying for the Champions League group stages again.

It's all just one upmanship. It was the same when Celtic nearly went bust back in the early 90's. Rangers fans were loving it. There will of course be the knuckledraggers who take things too far, but it allows one set of fans the chance to gloat over the other for a while. I have now doubt Rangers fans will have a chance to return the favour at some point in the future. (But hopefully not for a good while yet)

Think i'll listen to the phone in on Clyde 1 on my way home tonight. Will be funny to hear the knuckle draggers bhing and whining about this all on the radio.

Sometimes i wonder how people that retarded operate the telephone.
THIS "I wasny at the game the day I WATCHED the game on the wireless, but rangers were shocking, (insert current manager) should walk. They are tarnishing the name of the Glorious glasgow Rangers.”

Tonight though

“I wasn’t at the administration hearing today, it clashed with my signing on meeting but I’ll tell you this I’ve no missed a rangers game that’s been on the tele since 2002 but if they are that short of cash just release a bigoted orange top again and ill buy ten for me and my inbred, rock and roll junkie fameleeey.”

Looking the way Rangers have gone, it would seem that Fergus McCann was he best thing that happened to Celtic in recent decades.
