Rangers and Celtic are well supported. The sad fact is its mainly due to religion, glory hunting, and peer pressure.

There is a minority that do support there local football team however and no one has a problem with this or these people.

When did Celtc last have a sell-out? When Rangers were in the top league would be my guess.

Average attendance of 43k this season at the piggery.......loyal to the core to see your team win the top division.

Makes me laugh when teams of other clubs criticize Rangers for their attendances, as if Scottish football is booming with sell-outs everywhere every week. Comes back to my point about people being more obsessed with hating Rangers than loving their own team.

This person I've quoted being a prime example. He seems to know more about Rangers and their financial situation than anyone else. Why? You don't even support Rangers, so why do care this much to go looking for this information?

Mental.

If you had bothered to read my post about attendances, it was after another poster attacked other small teams for not being able to sell out games. It wasn't me that intoduced that to the conversation. The point I was making to the other poster is you can't criticise other teams for not selling out games, when his team can't do it either. Youve somehow managed to read half the post when I've even quoted him, then jumped to your own conclusions.

Secondly where does it say I'm a Celtic supporter? Jumping to conclusions yet again.

Throw all your insults at Celtic all you want, they don't affect me. Ever notice that I've never once went used your type of language?

I'm a football fan and have an interest in Scottish football. You either have to be blind and deaf not to see or hear what's going on at Rangers. You don't need to go looking for information, it's all there for anyone to see.

However I would say most people choose to ignore the bits they don't want to see.

Have you really joined a car site to fight about football?

Wait a minute, Rangers (and Celtic to be fair) have sold out their own and (the away ends of) other grounds all over Scotland for decades. Even in the last three years we have contributed God knows how much money for the wee teams and towns in ticket sales, pies and off licences and pub sales before and after games.

Ibrox was largely full the first two seasons and got emptier as time went on. With all the off field nonsense who could blame us holding back on spending our hard earned when we didn't know where it was going?

Celtic's attendances have been well down in the last three years because we aren't there. And that's with them winning almost everything.

I repeat there aren't many clubs who just 7 years ago were in a UEFA Final to being bust who could carry the sort of support we have done.

Ibrox wasn't anywhere near full the first two seasons. They originally did sell a lot of season tickets as there was an act of defiance and the season tickets were really cheap.

The act of defiance fell short when the fans were asked to invest in the club and buy shares. They didn't raise enough to move the club forward and fill the board's pockets enough. That was before anyone realised that Green & Co were just another bunch of crooks.

Look back to the 90s and you'll see Celtic with crowds of mid 20,000s. Look back to the late 70s early 80s are you'll see Rangers with crowds of as low just a few thousand. People seem to miss that both teams, especially Rangers, weren't always that well supported.

Celtic have seen their crowds drop as some of their fans need Rangers. Rangers have seen their crowds drop as their fans need Celtic. Rangers chairmen keep having to mention Celtic and the Old Firm constantly and they need Celtic more than anyone. They are desperate for the cash their club will be able to generate when assiociated with their old pals.

Most of the clubs in the Premier league have progressed financially and in terms of quality since Rangers went. I've not got figures at hand just now, but I'm sure quite a few clubs have higher average attendances and that's without Rangers.

You can't really judge what level of support other teams would have if they were liquidated as that isn't going to happen to many well supported clubs.

I can think of a few clubs that have dropped a division or two and crowds have increased as it's easier to support a winning team.

You are making Rangers fans sound loyal. They are the ones turning their back on the club when it's on its knees again. It's falling further and further into debt, yet the stadium is empty most paying games and it was only £5 for Hibs when the club is desperate for cash.

At work, and on my mobile so not much chance to demonstrate how, but do a Google for "the gentleman who pays the rent" and you'll see how calling it a piggery fits into an anti-Irish Catholic mindset, on a par with "You can ho home now, the famine's over" taunts.

Im always surprised at how many "non Rangers fans" are on this thread. You all claim to hate the Rangers buy here you all are talking about the Rangers.......confused. When you question non Rangers fans why they talk about a club they claim to not care about or hate its always the same answer you get.."BECAUSE WE CAN". I cant fathom why they feel the need to talk so much about us. I persona;y am never on any Celtic,Hearts,Hibs pages or threads. Why? Cos i hate or have no interest in them, so i dont talk about them. but here you all are obsessing over Rangers. Its ok, we don't really care if your obsessed with our club or that you spend as much time talking about us as you do your own club. Its just weird to us Bears....laugh

What I find weird is when Rangers were winning they were excessively smug and loud. It was always "look at us" and then they'd knock everyone else at every single chance.

Now that it's easy to knock Rangers, as soon as you mention them, "you're obsessed".

Why suddenly aren't people allowed to talk about Rangers?

Do you not think that if maybe Rangers fans didn't bury their heads in the sand and ignore obvious issues they wouldn't find themselves in the hole they are in?

Celtic have a free run in Scottish football. The only time the Celtic thread gets bumped on here is after a bad result by a Rangers fan.

Aberdeen are doing quite well these days. Their thread only gets a few bumps.

Have a glance on the Rangers forum and they have a great obsession about Celtic greater than the opposite.

Just look how many official letters have been sent around to boycott or to have action taken against Celtic for matters that have nothing to do with football.

The land deals one was one of the funniest. Look how many people spent half their life(yes people did put in a huge amount of effort) gaining proof to show Celtic were given deals by Glasgow City council for their training ground land.

They gained all this 100% stick on proof, wrote to every MP, the police, The European commission and everyone else to have a moan at.

Nobody even had the brains to realise that Celtic's training ground wasn't even under Glasgow Council's jurisdiction. It's in a different region.

Even after the forced investigation it turned out Celtic paid slightly more than the land was worth.

I find it really weird that Rangers fans have managed to build up such a wall and a pretense. I sometimes wonder if they've messed up their own heads and have managed to forget or avoid what the truth is.

Southampton fan here. I'm fascinated as the last few years looks like some kind of bizarre rollercoatser journey. Starting in the lower division, internal wranglings, political posturing to gain control, brinksmanship with finances, 4-5 versions of the truth. It's just incredible to watch and there are new twists and turns every few weeks.
Somewhere in the middle of it there are a bunch of fans who pay the wages of the team and are trying to support a football club, but the football is secondary whilst all of the other mess is happening.

No, I've never claimed to hate the Rangers. I'm quite interested in the Club and how it prospers.

On the other hand, I do loathe and despise a certain section of their supporters in exactly the same way I loather and despise a similar section of Celtic supporters.

I may not be an Arsenal fan either, nor a Chelsea fan, but that doesn't prevent me from joining in on online discussions about them.

What's your beef, that you want only Rangers supporters on here?

I take it your not a member on any Rangers forum, and haven't noticed any of the banners at any of the games? You'd need to be a very low key supporter to miss the goings on.

If you aren't bothered about the other teams, why join the discussion and introduce them?

If you don't care about them, why say you "hate" them in your earlier post? How can you hate something you don't care about? That's a contradiction. You've obviously got a reason and pay attention to build up hate?

Rather than spouting all the nonsense like "the only show in town", why not sensibly join in the football discussion?

Rather than deflect and talking nonsense like many of the other posters, put some good points into the discussion.

What's with all the new members joining for this thread?

What bile? It's never me that resorts to the insults.

Read the football threads and you'll find what team I support.

OK clever clogs, I'm still waiting on what bile I've posted?

Like the previous posters, you've jumped in with two feet and provide no substance.

Just keep making unfounded statements and guesses seems to be the way to win.
