Everton set to complete signing of Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic

£6 million. Should help to pay some of those bills owed to Her Majesty.

Opinions on him? Don't really know much about him? Looking at his goal scoring record, he appears to be a bargain, but hard to tell just from stats. Honest opinion?

How have you gotten to that position? I mean, along with Celtic, you have a fairly large base of fans to play with.

Large fan base for Rangers and Celtic, but naff all TV income compared to Premier League clubs.

Jelavic may score plenty of goals in the SPL, but when he plays for Croatia, against decent teams, his record isn't so hot (2 in 17)

Well, international stats aren't overly relavent in my opinion, especially as the players may not actually play regularly, unlike their club team. I'm hoping it goes throu, but still a little unsure.

My point was more about the standard of the SPL being poor, leading to impressive looking stats for unimpressive strikers. Kris Boyd being an example.

5.5... You turned down 7 from West Ham, which is odd. I presume that was simply because the player didn't want to go to WH.

No, no, no; nothing to do with Jelavic. Think pay now or instalments later whistle

A couple of great players on that list but I am talking about NOW.

Wouldn't you agree that the standard of the teams and their playing staff has dropped considerably over the last 5 years?

Where are the Larssons or the Laudrups now in the SPL?

Always good to support your local team!

They weren't so good last week when Utd got in your faces when you had the ball, and then tore you a new erchie when they attacked.
