What is a football club?
You can't answer my question can youDid Charles Green buy Rangers?
I'll require a definition of "football club" before I can answer that.
A football club, for me, is the stadium, players, fans, badge, songs, community, etc, which all appear to still be attached to a single entity which is in the 3rd division at present.

I appreciate the sentiment, but what is a football club?
A football club is an organised or incorporated body.A certain incorporated club is being liquidated.
A certain company, which was a previous business vehicle for a football club, is being liquidated.

See my edit.

NonsenseA certain company, which was a previous business vehicle for a football club, is being liquidated.
It was a club,it had accounts, board members, a chairman. It was an incorporated body. It has now been liquidated. It's not a mythical, fanciful magical bond between people.

So a new company, with new accounts and board means the "old club" disappears?
Pretty much, once all the legal wrangling over debts and money owed and to whom is sorted.I thought I'd have a wee google and see if I could find any other examples of football clubs being transferred between business holdings, so I googled:
"was then created as a new company and registered with company house"
I've gone to the trouble for you:
Let Me Google That For You

Rangers did something very similar a few years back when Murray had a share issue. Perfectly legal and provides continuity.
Your lmgtfy links are laughable by the way, facebook, some crappy forum and a wiki page, hardly credible sources.
Unluckily for you liquidation does not provide continuity. It provides the end.

New holding company, chairman, board = new club.
You told me that, are you now denying this?

Rangers were in Administration
To recoup money for creditors assets are sold of. Greenie buys them
Sets up new company - Sevco
Calls Sevco "The Rangers" or some other pish
Fans decide to support this new company (Club)which because it is new and doesn't have the required accounts has to start in Div 3
Today, Rangers that were in administration, are now in liquidation.
Sevco or whatever their real name is lost 3 nil tonight.

Correction: the rules state that 3 years accounts are required to be a member of the SFA and therefore of the SFL, not just the SPL and UEFA. Had they been applied correctly, The Rangers would be an Amateur, Junior or Welfare club.Terzo123 said:

Old Company were put in administration?

New company were renamed?
Old holding company were liquidated?
Rangers formed in 1872 and have been a limited company since 1899, it has held company number SC004276 ever since it was formed
Celtic have had a football club since 1887 and it has been a limited company since 1897, it has held company number SC003487 ever since it was formed.
Celtic's name changed from the old Private Limited Company, the Celtic Football and Athletic Company ltd, to the new Public Limited Company, Celtic PLC, in 1994. Celtic PLC still have company number SC003487, just like the club did back in 1897.
Celtic also bought the now-unused "The Celtic Football And Athletic Company" name in 1994 and attached to a company Fergus McCann started for the purpose of ensuring nobody else could use it (Pacific Shelf). That company is still owned by Celtic PLC today.
Rangers (company number SC004276) ended today.
