I know it's not La Liga per se, but Atletico Madrid were cutting it fine tonight. 1-0 with 30 seconds to go in injury time.

It's the Messi & Ronaldo show once again, with Leo ahead on points (thanks to that sublime free kick). Mind you, I suspect it wouldn't be quite so close if Barca had any sort of defence.

First match after the international break and normal service is resumed - 2 goals for Messi (the first one was very nice indeed) and Barca 4-2 up against Depor. That's only the first half, so presumably more to come.

Yep, not much saving of that one going on.

Sending off was just plain wrong - the one thing I really hate about La Liga is the theatrics and histrionics in situations like that.

Yeah, happens in all leagues though. It's a shame when Iniesta was just praised for not going down after a challenge because that shows how stupid and out of control it is.

No doubt a fair few strikers would be giving it Billy Big Spuds if they'd managed such a deft lob.

Good night for football in La Liga with Falcao scoring 5 goals, including 3 within 7 minutes and Messi breaking the scoring record.

Have the Spuds sold Tom Bale already?

Falcao won't go until the summer and then you're looking at 60m Euros entry fee.

Penultimate round of this season's La Liga today. Half way through the second half and Athletico are 1 nil down at home to Malaga, Real trailing 2-0 at Celta Vigo and it's goal-less in the Barcelona game who are away at Elche.

So it's all down to the one big game next weekend then.

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona have to win to take the title on goal difference otherwise the title will go to Atletico

Can see Barca breaking Athletico hearts next week, then Real the week after. It's a very exciting finish though. I'm very surprised Real fell away.

Real want to win a tenth Big Cup more than another La Liga title, so played the stiffs (relatively speaking).

Wouldn't entirely surprise me either if Barca won next week, which if Real do what they're aiming for, would be seriously harsh on Atleti, who really deserve something out of this season. Would also have that silly situation where a manager who wins the league gets the Spanish archer.
Sounds like Luis Enrique for next year.

Big game tonight.

I hope Athletico do it. Would be nice to see someone else win la liga for a change.
