well i just spent an hour reading up on this and its very interesting. I dont fully understand it, but getting there.
Only problem I see is that most sites now only offer you free bets but without your stake returned.
so can you explain this to me
you make your first bet and cover it. you make a small profit or loss. but this gives you the free bet. right totaly makes sense. you might be a few quid down but hey.
you use the free bet to try and get the biggest return you can whilst laying that bet.
but any examples ive tried with this you cant make a no risk win as the free bet stake isnt returned so you could actually end up out of pocket.
I must be doing it wrong.
also
After you have bet your free bet what do you do go onto another site?
or do you continue to use that kitty?

Stake not returned is the norm (SNR)
You bet your first 'qualifier bet' say £50. If you get your back and lay odds close you should expect to lose 5% or less. So you have turned your £50 into £45.
So it has cost you £5 to get the £50 free bet SNR.
You need to go for higher odds say 7.0 or more.
Now you are looking to turn that free money in an amount worth say 70% of the free bet amount. This will be the amount you win above the original stake money.
That will be £35 which is yours. Total profit £30.
With careful odds matching you can do better.
It is very important that you check the T&Cs as there will be different rules ie the minimum odds for the bet and some of the bonuses will be stake returned but they will want you to bet it many times before you can withdraw. This is where it is important that you 'lose' at the bookie and win at the exchange or you will lose a bit of your stake every time.
Obviously you can also do what I am doing for Holland tonight. I have qualifying bets with 2 bookies to gain a £10 and a £25 freebet. I have used my own money and have backed and layed so that those 2 freebet will cost me only £3.00.
Somewhere on that thread or the link there is a small XL spreadsheet that you can download that does all the maths for you. It is essential as I am stuck with out it.

As to your last question, I moved on to another site. The bookies are on to this as some of them insist that you bet your deposit many times in order to get your free bet or bonus. Not worth doing. Thing is when you lose at the bookies, which is often, they get your money and the betting exchange where you Lay the bet get's their commission, so no one is losing out, plus they get non gamblers like me interested and doing the odd bet

aw right thats where I went wrong! I was trying to do it for every match but it just doesnt work that way has to be a high stake.
so say for example I have £50 free bet on coral, and put it on ireland to win at 9/1 id get £450 back
so i go to bet fair, i find if i offer odds at 12.5 with a stake at £35 for ireland to win Id need to pay out £402 say
SO ive turned that free bet into say 48 quid or so
because If ireland win im up £450 at coral, but I loose £402 at bet fair
but if ireland dont win ive lost my free bet but ive got £35 from my lay!

Yep, basically that's it. Have you downloaded the spreadsheet? as it works out the exact stake to lay for the back, odds and even includes the commission. The amount you gain should be the same whether you win it at the bookies or the exchange.

Proof again tonight that I'm good at football betting, and should knock the horse bets on the head. My over 2.5 double came up Decent, though I am down over the tournament so far. I'd had £5 on Holland, and also aother £7 spread over combined Holland and VanPersie/Sneijder top scorer. The Dutch really let me down. Also, thanks to Russia and Greece, lost £25 last night. Think i'm gonna lump on a handicap double for Tuesday. If Spain win their group tomorrow, surely both England and France will want to win group d, so i'm looking at an England -1/France -1 double. Also may put a wedge on Italy -1 tomorrow against the Irish... Eta, England are priced around 3/1 -1 goal. With Rooney back, I think that is a cracking price. I think Ukraine have had their big game and won't be able to raise it enough to beat us. The £5 treble of Italy/France/England all -1 goal returns around £90... I'm on

Haven't actually thought about next bets, I'm a fan of Asian handicaps but I'll see how PP are handicapping first. Your Italy bet should come off beautifully. Ireland have conceded within 4 minutes of the start of the last 4 halves they've played ha!

I'm on Interesting, I'll look into that. I really don't like integer handicapping, though. Much prefer 0.25, 0.5, 0.75. As it is, with -1 you need 2 goals, and PP obviously then lay a handicapped draw too because it's a possibility with even numbers, so no refund on the draw. Compared to 0.25, where you only need your team to win by 1 goal to put them 0.75 ahead, and the draw option is eliminated. I know the odds will be better but still... There was some talk that Rooney could potentially not start and be brought on a bit later. And will Schevenko start, given the knee injury?

Took Spain to win, and a goal in both halves in the Italy Ireland match. The double only pays 6/5 but I'm rebuilding after withdrawing to pay for Friday nights booze up

The 11am Betfred bet of the day was over 2.5 goals in the Spain v Croatia match at 2.0, up from 1.66. I stuck £25 on it but now I'm not so sure so I've Layed the bet for a £2.50 profit.
I can still 'un-Lay' for pennies lost, what do you lot think.

croyde said: And why not? It's probably the first match I haven't went over/under on. I just fancied Spain to win, and a goal in each half of the Italy match. I'm bankroll rebuilding, after withdrawing to pay for this weekend, so 6/5 the double seemed about right. I'll probably do a double over 2.5 on both matches tonight before I finish work, truthfully.
