Honestly, I'd welcome either Hamann or Hypia to the coaching team with open arms!

Actually...scratchchin...thats a fairly obvious solution.

Bags of success at club level and currently looking for work in the EPL.

You did watch the England games, didn't you? Wouldn't want Capello

Given some of his tactics and line ups, and his staunch support of Terry, I think we'd be swapping like for like with Cappello. Suppose he did get the results with England (not when it mattered however), despite some of his teams being extremely boring to watch at times.

I think he would have had a good season next year, the biggest problems we had were scoring, the rest of the package was coming along well, with a few exceptions such as Adams & downing, big Andy was really starting to get form.

Anyway, if Rafa does not come back, Martinez will do a Woy im afraid, the other name that popped into my head was Di-Matteo! If the Chavs bin him, why not? Seems to have really grown as a manager, stranger things have happened wink
He was sacked not long ago by West Brom , think it's no secret that Frank & JT are pulling the strings at chelsea

bit left side but Martin o'neill could be a decent shout , he would certainly get the best out of the players you have there ,

If we were going for a young manager I would rather have Di-Matteo than Martinez but I reckon he has a good chance of keeping his place at chavski until Guardiola has finished his holiday.

You can't compare England to club team. Chalk and cheese. Nobody has been able to make England a success since 1966 and many big names have tried.

Liverpool need someone young, someone dynamic, who's used to working with foreign owners. Ideally, they could continue the tradition of fine Scottish managers at the club.

Has anyone got Steve Kean's number?

And what team was he managing and in which league? Liverpool are nowhere near that level right now.

If they really haven't got anyone lined up then that shows them up as clueless amateurs.

We could end up with Terry Connor for all they know.

People moaned when City got rid of Mark Hughes, but at least the owners there knew who they were GETTING not who they wanted.

As an aside why is everyone so down on Martinez?
They must have someone lined up or Kenny forced their hand yesterday. If they don't then of course it reflects badly on FSG.

As for Martinez. My opinion. Too big a step up and his teams concede far too many goals. Villa would be a good move for him.

I'd take Capello, the 10th place madman, Klopp or however u spell his name all before Rafa. There's no one in the premiership I'd want.

Shame about Clarke, if true. Our defence was generally bloody good last season.

Not sure about Capello - Id rather Rafa than him

Klopp is not gonna leave Dortmund for Liverpool - they have just won the league and have Champions league football - unless we offer big big bucks
The other guy cant speak a word a bloody English - he is deffo not right for us.

Right so Kenny has gone but lets all take a reality check.
We finished 8th in the league, our worst season for half a fking century. Anfield was turned into a play ground for away teams and it got to the point where teams fighting relegation were fighting each other to play us.
Yes we scraped a Cup win against a Championship side and played like muppets for an hour in the FA cup before we were rightly beaten but its not exactly something I want to shout about.

Dalglish is a total legend but his handling of the Saurez episode was extremely poor and coupled with the piss poor league form, I think this is the right and proper decision I really do.

We have to look forward and watching Man City win the league just really enforced the idea that it woud not happen with Kenny in charge. We need to go out and get a top manager. Our team aint that bad, only one or 2 signings are needed but I simply cannot see us competing under Kenny. I would give anything for that to change but it wont so lets stop slagging the owners and see what happens.

Well to be fair to the man, Hodgson has made one ballsy and good decision recently:

Gerard named as England captain.
What's wrong with Nevs appointed anointed as coach?

Other than a few billion in the bank there is no instant fix. Rafa imo left the team in very bad condition & with the addition of Roy that certainly didn't help things. Yes, on paper Kenny should without a doubt be sacked but it was NEVER going to be any sort of success with any manager they brought in. For me, it is a season of unfortunate events for LFC. Kenny has shown the fans a exiting football style this season & you just can't blame him 100% for the some of the lacklustre bad baaad performances from players, I'm sure he also cringed at them. Add a cup and a Final to that gives me the right to be optimistic for the next season.

He's not perfect, no one is. I don't agree with some of his team selections (Spearing!!! Sack the useless turd) but then again I don't agree with many managers team selections.

Point being. The man is a legend at this club & has help build it to what it is today & deserves more respect than what has been shown. It makes no sense to give a manager a bit of dosh then sack a year later.

Respect? You mean like the respect Dalglish paid to the game, the fans, the governing body, the independent panel and, most importantly, the victim in a racial incident leading to the banning of one of his players?

The guy turns up to major finals at the national football stadium wearing a track suit.

Dalglish has done admirable things in his career, but I would not place him as a person who shows respect.
