Ludogorets Razgrad (dunno) just knocked out Steaua Bucuresti in a penalty shoot out to qualify for the Champions League. Only their keeper was sent off in extra time with no keeper on the bench, so a centre half went in goal. Scored his own penalty then saved two. hehe
Brilliant stuff

Assume he means that moment when a larger than usual transfer fee is spent on a new player. Usually described as a "statement of intent".

Yep.

Sorry for the rather odd post.

Teams pretty much always need to strengthen so for me it really is a 'no st sherlock' saying. I simply do not understand the over use or use at all,

Like the term "warchest", which only ever seems to be used in the context of football mangers making new signings

So after months of build up and speculation, the season has started and just 5 games in, we've seen high drama, the league starting to take shape and the hopes of millions dashed by their team playing badly.

Highlights so far:
The unpredictability of the Premier league. Leicesters win vs Man Utd, Stokes win at Man City, Palace beating Everton and the top 8 having an unfamliliar feel to it but it will change as we all know

Teams having a go...... We are starting to see teams play with a little less fear and respect which is making for some great games

What are yours?

You've pretty much summed it up for me, the smaller teams as well as lacking fear are also playing some great football, sort of anti Stoke if you will.

Southampton continue to be a pleasant surprise, every time I think they've hampered their chances they instead improve.

It's the modern, young managers' way ... to actually play football ... no wonder Manyoo turned over a rank looking QPR at OT the other week - they're led by a dinosaur of a manager stuck in the 80s somewhere. They never even had a go - I'm sure even their own fans who'd followed Utd fans up the M1/M6 to the game were diappointed they never actually had a go ... rather that and lose 4-0 than play defensive ste with all 11 in your own half and lose 4-0, surely?

Enjoyed that smile

He does make a valid point though, how can you stand there and not celebrate a goal and if Fat Boy loved Chelsea so much he wouldn't have gone on loan to Citeh. The very fact he stated he wouldn't move to another PL club and then did an about face a few weeks later makes him look enough of a tt as it is.
