And now for not a joke.

I saw that Southampton are back for preseason (yesterday) are they the first club in the prem back in training?
They must mean business. Not a bad idea really. How long do Prem players need off anyway? smile

Southampton have a Europa League qualifier on July 18th, hence the early start wink

Good point... Maybe they'll be fitter at the start of the season, then knackered by March.

Just found out that West Ham have a match tonight! Not a friendly, but a qualifying round game.

Not too sure how many first teamers will be playing, but that's a nice early start.

Can't believe Jerome's goal was disallowed for a high kick. Total travesty.

Yeah, never seen a bicycle kick disallowed for high kicking before.

Thought the new Football League show on C5 was totally disjointed bouncing between leagues for the highlights. I want to watch the league my team is in to watch them & the sides they're going to play but you either have to record it (which I did as I was out) & fast forward or sit through the rest of it. Seemed like they were trying the Soccer AM approach.

I'm aware I'm one of probably 10 people that still watch it, but they've changed direction themselves a bit this year. Rushden gone and Fenners brought in, minimal dicking about and more about the guests and football. It was different but not in a bad way.

Devastating news for BCM. I know there's a little candle burning somewhere at BCM Towers.

Rather than clog up a specific teams thread.

Does anyone else thing the transfer window should shut when the season begins? Its so distracting for fans of all teams and whilst being a Utd fan we are normally kept away from clubs coming in and nicking our players it must be a nightmare for other clubs.

The season finishes in May, June, July and a few days of August should be plenty to sort stuff out and then everyone could start the season knowing their team and focus on the football.

They must be in a ballpark? Get it all done by the first week of August. Bosh.

yes

Was my thoughts, they can't be THAT far apart as every 2 years there is a summer tournament that most are involved in

To be fair they probably could, it's only really the minor European leagues that start in Spring and end in Autumn. I had it in my head that more did, but I found a website I was going to use to score points and realised it would have actually been a massive own goal/hoist by my own petard etc. As you were.
