Typical "I don't like football so they're all knobs" reaction. Footballers spend huge amounts of their own free time doing charity work.

Ballotelli is an enigma and a true living legend. If only more were like him and Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Bad example.

Whys he a bad example? He's telling it how it is which is admirable.
You're completely bonkers if you think that all footballers are in it for the love of the game/their club.

edit: Don't wanna start an argument though, so I won't say any more.

Anyway moving on, Balotelli is pretty much a god. It must be utter madness around him 24/7.

And for the record I love football and have been to loads of matches all over the country following my team and England but I don't agree with their over inflated wages and when they act like total arrogant tossers when they just kick a ball around

I suspect he's quite a smart guy and therefore gets bored easily.

His antics are amusing and usually good natured...we don't hear about him doing the chavvy things our indigenous players get upto.

Eccentric.

I think he's great. We don't have enough eccentrics in the world anymore.

I wouldn't have him playing for my team, but I can appreciate his effort off the pitch.
This, he's a breath of fresh air.

I can see nothing wrong with Assou-Ekotto's statements either, I admire his honesty.

Can't believe you're getting flamed for this! I had a good laugh, the guy sounds like a cock but I bet he's entertaining on a night out.
Gah...who cares mate. This is Pistonheads after all, where everyone is on millions and driving sporstcars. Yet go barmy when you mentions someone who is actually proper loaded and has some discernible talent.

I'm a Geordie btw and a Toon Army Fan!

I think it's fair to say that Ballotelli is just having fun. He's on a ridiculous wage and no doubt gets board. I, for one, think it's hilarious.

'Mario Balotelli takes truant boy back to school and gives bullies ticking off'

"Manchester City star Mario Balotelli has displayed his less-seen compassionate side by helping a young boy to overcome problems with a school bully, according to reports."

90% of the stories are untrue. However the guy is quality, proper entertainment and the antithesis of modern football. Great to have a real character who is causing nobody any harm. He is also decent to talk to in real life, and this is coming from a United fan.

Well proportionately how many footballers act like tossers as opposed, lets say, to Doctors? Very few really. Most young men act like tossers at some point. Difference is when a proffessional footballer does we all get to hear about it.

Also I wouldn't say footballers wages are over inflated. Not when compared to the huge amounts their talent makes for the clubs they play for.

Mario is obviously a young lad who is aware that he has more than most and occasionally shares it around.
If it were Christian Bale or Andy Murray doing the same everyone would be swooning at their feet saying how great they are.

Not a City fan (well I prefer them to United like any normal person biggrin )

But I think he's brilliant.

Indeed. Last time Lampard gave out money? Last time Walcott bought a pub a round? Last time Gerrard did something for charity and didn't get the media down first to film it?

Don't forget the game he had an allergic reaction to grass! I think he is fantastic and once you explain to people who don't like him all the good things he has done their opinion quickly changes.
