I think that he is a character. It's a strange thing when the facts are stranger than the rumours.

But he showed his nasty side yesterday. That was a tttish thing to do.

Not just because of that. He's been doing it his whole career.

bks. He's getting castigated because he stamped on Scott Parker. What are you stupid or something?
He's being castigated because he was the person who shouldn't have been on the pitch and won and scored a penalty. If it had been Lescott who'd won and scored the penalty than the attention would be on him (and to be fair, his elbow was worse than Mario's stamp).

To be fair 99% of Livepool players are scum smile You wouldn't have any of them in your house either. (Same goes for a fair percentage of Chelsea too). So it's not too hard to snipe at them.

Know them do you fella...?

You can't help but like this guy 95% of the time, but I think there comes a time when someone has to say enough is enough. The stamp was quite bad but no worse than other players have got away with in the past.

I'm also starting to question some of his good deeds in so much as if he ready is giving this money away as he is do the fans not feel a little but insulted that its their hard earned he's pushing out off his car window? I'm sure that just donations to charity/kids homes etc would be far better?

I actually like the guy but I do wonder how much control the club have over him if any and am always left guessing which Mario is going to turn up.

I've seen these before. The guy is off balance and his feet could go anywhere. Parker is on the ground after getting "hit" tackling Balotelli. He's under Ballotelli's feet and Ballotelli is falling on to him. At that point Ballotelli is trying to regain his balance arms out and legs flailing. In those cases when your feet land they don't particularly care what they land on and the force is that of somebodies weight on that foot!!! It's not similar to the guy who back heeled a player this weekend as he walked away. It's a case of Parker coming into Balotelli and getting hit by a guy trying to regain his balance.

One question, are you a Man City fan?

My bet is your response will go something like "Yes, but...."

Strange, whenever I'm falling forwards I always kick my leg out backwards quite forcefully instead of trying to plant it in front of me too.

The Spuds didn't react because they probably didn't see how bad the challenge was. Modric had words i think,

What are you talking about the bloke stamped on parker's face its as simple as that, the rest is just piss and wind.

How is this even a debate, he'll be banned for 3/4 games and quite rightly so. end of story.

This is like saying the fire that burnt your house down wasn't too bad because the fire brigade didn't turn up until it was all over.

in what way shape or form does stamping your foot out at an daft angle help you to regain balance ? It was a deliberate attempt at hurting him, just pure arrogance by balotelli..how dare you tackle me.BUt kudos for trying to defend the indefensible, you definitely must bleed blue.

He deserves everything that is coming to him. However if we are not careful we will have video evidence in every single match and dozens of red cards every weekend. If you are going to use video evidence as in this case then surely trying to stamp on an opponents head is the most violent of crimes and certainly deserves far more than just a match ban.
The question should also be how did Webb not see it.

what are you talking about? video evidence is always used if the referee doesn’t see what is a blatant red card offense, the only time it isn’t used is when the ref has seen an incident but deemed it fair/yellow card.

This isn’t a new law its been used many many times in the past. There is no scapegoat/martyr here it’s a perfectly fair and reasonable response what was an appalling piece of sportsmanship.

Man U fan here...wavey

Fwiw, I quite like Balotelli, he's a character and a lot of these youngsters can be hot-headed, there's been a few over the years, most of which learn over time to curb their enthusiasm...

However I would say in this case that the backward movement of Balotelli's foot is what's got him the punishment. He's flicked his trailing boot out, I think knowing that he's already trodden on Parker (accidentally), where his brain should have been telling him to try to avoid any further contact with the player. If he's used his, shall we say, stamping foot, for balance then he should have been more considered...he then walked away knowing that he'd trodden on Parker and didn't immediately turn to offer assistance.

Case closed, m'lud. judge

He's pumped up at the minute, you could see with his aiming that volley of spit towards the referee the other day that he's in a bad place at the moment. Over to Mancini to get his head in order and I hope for Balotelli's sake that the club take him to one side and explain to him why they shouldn't appeal...

Video evidence is being used more than ever before and quite often firstly by the media. That means games that do not have TV cameras will not be subject to the same scrutiny. You will not find any sympathy for Balotelli but if we continue to use Sky as a way of refeering a game after the final whistle then surely that is not a good thing.
Equally if you are going to use it how is it the Lescott managed to get away with a forearm smash?.

Actually he dived (quite a comical one).

OR, as a few of the deluded clowns might have seen it

Fell over when Parker viciously headbutted his heel

I like Balotelli, despite the fact he is easily one of the most prolific divers in the league. But that stamp was completely out of order.
