Hatricks each again - and you still reckon this league is decent?

They are the two best players in the world by a huge gap. Of course they will score hat tricks.

Luis Suarez 13/14 season for Liverpool - 2 or more goals in 33 league games = 8 times

Ronaldo 13/14 season - 2 or more goals in 30 La liga games = 7 times

Ronaldo last season scored 2 goals or more 6 times in the Champions league.

La Liga is definitely poor wink

Place Real Madrid and Barcelona in the premier league and Messi and Ronaldo, arguably the two best players ever, would score hat tricks.

You're wasting your time BlackST. The ignorant like to form an opinion based on nothing more then a hunch.

La Liga poor? Have at look how many times Spanish teams have got to the semis and finals of the two Competitions in Europe over the last 10 years. I bloody love the Prem and it was in a league of its own a good few years back. Not anymore, not by a long way.

Ronaldo and Messi would both be as effective anywhere else in the world as they are in Spain. Two of the best players of all time IMO, enjoy them for what they are doing instead of trying to belittle their achievements.

Why do you have such an issue with La Liga? What is so special about the Premiership? Or is your issue with Messi himself and you want to find any opportunity to belittle his ability?

Face it whether you like it or not but Messi and Ronaldo are 2 of the top players in the world (if not the top two). Dry your eyes and move on.

He's just pointing out that a lot of the teams in La Liga are cannon fodder for the big teams...much moreso than in England.

And if Barca and Real we're playing the likes of Villa, Hull and Burnley they wouldn't be winning by 5,6,7 goals? Of course they bloody would! Chelsea's the closest we have to those two, and even they are a long way off man for man.

You say that, but in England we often get teams that are in the relegation hunt beating or drawing with the 'big' sides.

We've also had some of the biggest names in world football playing as strikers in England, but they weren't scoring 50+ goals a year, year in, year out. I'm think of van Nistelroy, Henry, Rooney, Drogba

In Ronaldo's years at Madrid he's scored 33, 53, 60, 55, 51, and 29 so far just into the second week of December. His last 3 years at Utd (where they wont the title every year) he had 23, 42, 26

With respect none of van Nistelroy, Henry, Rooney and especially Drogba come close to the skill and ability to read the game and their opponents as Messrs Messi and Ronaldo.

All 4 you quote were (sort of are) quality strikers but in a different league. Literally.

Really? Great strikers no question, but nowhere near the level of Messi an Ronaldo, and Ronaldo was what 23/24 when he left United? Hardly at his peak was he.

Messi and Ronaldo leading goalscorers in the CL of all time

Sevilla and Valencia got further than Swansea and Spurs in the Europalast year

LaLiga participants hardly get anything whereas in the BPL even Burnley and Leicester are getting £50m every season for TV right.
Unsure how much the winners of the Segunda division get but if you win the Championship you get £100m.

The quality of the Premiership should be 100 times better than La Liga.

Funny the way this thread is heading.

The Premier League is as much a boring and predictable wallet waving contest as La Liga and the rest.

Only the Bundesliga seem to have a clue these days...

It's not perfect but it's a lot closer than anywhere else's 'top' league it would seem.

25 of La Liga's players made guardians top 100 players this year vs 31 from the prem. Ronaldo voted no1 by 75% of the panel for first time. Runner up to messiest two years.

Seriously? Before the start of this season, who would have predicted that Southampton and West Ham would be in the top 5 before Christmas?

Bundesliga is a one horse race.

They probably would, but that wasn't what I was getting at. I was responding to Memphis saying that the EPL is boring and predictable, which it really isn't.
