We have a decent squad and cover in most positions but a long term injury to either Arteta or Szczesny will be devastating.
As will a long one to Podders, Santi and maybe Gibbs and Diaby. hehe

Hopefully we'll have a season of relative good luck with injuries, I think we're due one!

For Podders we have OX or Gervinho. Santi we have Wilshere. Gibbs, true, Santos is not really a defender. For Diaby we have Rosicky and Arshavin/Cazorla dropping deep.

I'm sure it is only a matter of time until we find out about the depth... hehe

However, I really don't see any similar quality holding midfielders to Arteta in out squad unfortunately. Coquelin and Frimpong are not at his level at all yet.

Arteta is the real player we don't have cover for....Cazorla has been brilliant but we do have Wilshere, Rosicky and Arshavin (don't laugh) that can all play in that position. Wenger said something interesting about Arshavin after the cup game along the lines of "he's been played out of position on the wing and his best position is centrally behind the striker"....wonder if he still has a future?

Gervinho? hehe

Only messing, he can be quite good if he feels like it. Don't know if he is already but he should be putting in extra time in training on his technique and finishing.

It'll be interesting to see Ox up front, hopefully being versatile in that way won't affect his midfield/wing play.

Same with The Coq really, I can only really see Frimpong staying as a holding mid, which isn't a bad thing IMO.

We can have depth if Wilshire stays fit, Arshavin turns up and Rosicky plays as well as he did last season. Oh, and stays fit. hehe

Lampard used to love shoving Fabregas about... Let's see how he gets on with our latest Spaniard.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow; I start work at 2, I am very tempted to avoid looking at updates until I get in, to hopefully a good score-line.

Yup. Can't argue with that....two goals conceded from set pieces....you don't deserve to win. Simples.

Poor today. Beaten by a really poor Chelsea team too.

Giroud is crap, Ramsey was poor again, Diaby is back to his injury prone self.

Surprised, (leaving the result aside) I thought it was a good game with some cracking battles in midfield.

I would have taken 1 point this morning.

It should be.

The two goals you got should never have been that easy.

I think Gibbs played very well. Losing Diaby so early unbalanced the team and Chamberlain didn't really get much space in the centre. Giroud doesn't look at all comfortable. All this talk about needing time to bed in, what, like Cazorla and Podolski? Ramsey started fairly well, but faded far too quickly, then made too many mistakes. We easily had two goals to score, but just didn't produce the killer pass/shot (Cazorla's two missed shots).

Something that annoys me about AW is that he never gets off his seat and exerts himself, never mind implore his team to. Instead, he gets up in the dying minutes/seconds and leans on the fourth official.

I was relying on BBC Text as usual, any positives we can take from today?

Can't say I was surprised Per was left out, Kos's pace on paper is better against a team like Chelsea.

Positives? The balance sheet is looking good.

No way Per would've lost the first goal either. Kos has howler but they were there guilty of their own undoing today. I know you could blame TV for the giving away the free kick for the second but it was the mucking around in the middle of the Chelski half then losing the ball prior to that that really cost them. Just not good enough.
