We can't afford any more slip ups, anything less than 6 points from the two remaining games won't do.

I can see Bolton doing us a favour tomorrow, they are fighting for survival.

Indeed. Especially on Saturday.....anything but three points is an absolute disaster. We play a day ahead so we should use that to put pressure on the chasing pack. There are no excuses....Norwich have nothign to play for which frankly worries me as Arsenal have been caught asleep a few times when they haven't gone into games with the right attitude when they think it's an easy three points.

Hodgson's mind won't be on it for our last game against WBA either....that might backfire but hopefully it won't.

Hi im wavey

Hmm, I think we will beat Norwich. West Brom isnt so easy.

I'm sitting on the fence until the last kick of the season but I'm guessing both of us will be cheering for Bayern in the CL final come what may.

hehe

Good player, but I'd rate Sagna above him. It's no coincidence that our run of good form started on his return to the team. Theo is a different player with Sagna behind him.

I'd like to see us sign a good centre back and some defensive midfield cover, plus a creative midfielder. It's now a case of getting in and signing people before the Euros, as after that prices will no doubt be inflated.
I was not suggesting that Richards should keep Sagna on the bench. Alves is the only right back who could replace Sagna in my opinion.

What I meant in that post was, he would be a quality signing because it would allow us to have the flexibility for some rotation in defence and Richards can play right across the back line. A quality utility defender is just what we need.

As for him being on £200k plus, I would be surprised if that is true and he is certainly not worth breaking the wage structure for.

According to the Metro Arsenal have opened talks with Ajax, regarding the possible transfer of Jan Vertonghen.

Just makes you wonder why the F we didn't do this last year. I feel a certain cheif exec may have had his nuts chewed off at some point and has finally woken up.

You'd certainly hope so....he's as smooth as you like when interviewed but clearly has yet to deliver where it matters. Maybe this is the "line in the sand" moment....if RVP leaves then Walcott and Song are both gone I would say.

On a separate note when I was watching the game last night it really struck me what an ordinary Man Utd side this one is (fk me Ferguson is good) and let's face it this Arsenal side and the current Chelsea side are all pale imitations of their best sides of the last ten years. I do actually think though that Arsenal are the best placed out of those three...this Arsenal squad will get better if it sticks together but you can't say that of either United or Chelsea. Scezzer, Kozzer, Gibbs, Wilshere, Ramsey, The Ox, Walcott (dare I say it), Song are all a long way off their primes and certainly Scezzer, Wilshere and possibly The Ox have got the potential to be world class. Of that Utd side last night only De Gea, Smalling and Jones are not already at their peak.

I fear today.

Pressure is on us, and as per previous posts....we don't fair well under it.

We need to have this game sealed by half time (2/3-0 at least) as if we are behind or drawing, i feel it will be game over.

I know we have come back before, but we all know we sometimes choke when it really matters, AND WE NEVER do it the easy way with games to spare.
We have made hard work of this season and now we are down to two scenarios for me...best and worse.

Best:
We finish third, Newcastle finish fourth and Bayern win the Champions league. (spuds and South London Battersea F.C. are on Channel 5 next year.)

Worst:
Spuds finish third, we finish fourth......and Battersea F.C. win the CL. (us on channel 5)

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Still....Battersea SOUTH LONDON, it rings better than Stratford Hotspurs playing at the Usain Bolt arena.
I prayed every night that they would get that place and have to keep the running track.
Priceless.....they would never have lived it down. ( i had personally composed around ten chants for that one !!!)

I admire Norwich (but remember Chris Sutton giving us a hard time at Highbury many moons ago) but we need to smash in their back doors today.....early doors. Its needed to give us the impetous to beat west brom.

I agree with the ablve, if things start getting tense the crowd will get on their back and it never goes well when that happens!

team for today...

Team in full: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Song, Ramsey, Rosicky, Gervinho, Benayoun, Van Persie.

Substitutes: Fabianski, Santos, Djourou, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Park, Chamakh.
