I think they must be confused about who got a broken leg. Yeah, they're a classy bunch, a real credit to the Premier League! Exactly. Thankfully we have teams like Swansea, Reading and Norwich who have showed you can come into the Premier League and survive playing excellent football. Stoke and their dreadful style of play belong in the dark ages of Wimbledon FC in the 1990's. It's such a shame they've been so successful at it.

Is it possible for us to sign Rooney given his injury? Will he fail the medical?

Do you need yet another sporadic striker? You do need goals, so f k it, why not.

Tiote isn't happening according to the post match press conference.
I am really looking forward to this week. In a big way. I fancy some movement. Transfer wise.

Why the hell are commentators so sympathetic towards Stoke players?? Watching MoTD now and I have seen a handball and crunching challenge by the same skinhead thug and all the commentator says is that he's a committed player... Bunch of no-talent tossers if you ask me, I sincerely hope they get relegated this season.

The press love the Stoke Arsenal game cause they can bill it as beauty and the beast and revel in the thunderous challenges that saw Wilkinson booked. But..............cast your mind back to the 2010 world cup final and the very same press and pundits were abhorred at the manner in which the Dutch took on the Spanish saying that it was anti-football and there was no place for it in the "beautiful game". Press and pundits are on the same level of class as Messrs Pulis and Co in my book.

I agree with that and Stoke are a joke in terms of the passing game but, is there a more stirring or evocative sight in football as a full on hard but clean tackle? It seems to be losing its place in thegame.

There's a marked difference between a good tackle and a reckless clattering challenge that is so uncontrolled it can potentially end a players career. Did Bobby Moore ever break anyones leg? Tony Adams? Steve Perryman? Ledley King? Hell, even Martin Keown didn't injure anyone! My point is this. Teams like Bolton when Allardyce was in charge, Birmingham under McLeish and Stoke under Pulis think the only way to survive in top level football is to have a team full of big shaven headed thugs who "get amongst them" and "let them know we are here". Thankfully we have now seen the back of Bolton and Birmingham. One of the Stoke players yesterday spent the entire first half trying to "do" Carzola. Carzola was too good for them, but I bet he wondered what on earth he had let himself in for playing against a team like Stoke. I'll leave you with this from last season, it sums them up: Rafael Van Der Vaart said: "“During our game at Stoke I really thought I was going to walk off after 25 minutes. They did nothing but batter us, tackle and hit long balls.
“It is totally not my style, although they get results with it.”

I'm all for challenges, hard as you like, so long as they are fair and agree the game is going a bit namby-pamby (never thought i'd use that phrase on PH!) but the "letting people know you are there" that resulted in the injuries to Diaby, Eduardo and Ramsey is not on. I'm not saying that there was intent to do what happened but getting in the face, and letting them know know they're in a game, etc. in today's game where players are so much quicker is going to result in these injuries.
