You will miss him if he buggers off in january, Nice cool finish btw furious
I think so too, he is st on the wing because you have to make decisions. Once through on goal he is a great finisher because he doesn't have to think.

What a player Carzola is. How was he not picked up by the top 2 Spanish teams? Best signing this transfer window. Good result that, Theo once again proving he deserves a shot up front. I hope he gets that chance. And Giroud looking like he'll get a few more goals this season. I really am liking the look of this squad.

He's brilliant but not really a Mourinho type player is he ? And Barca have got a few tasty midfield options already.........

I just love watching him.

That's a game we'd have lost last year. The thing with this team is that we have good options from the bench too.

I disagree, I could see him in both clubs, maybe not as a regular starting 11 but more backup. Seems like his popped out of nowhere (I never heard of him until we got him) anyone know if he was any good over in Spain? or is it that maybe the prem suits hes style of play.

I've watched a fair bit of Spanish football over the last 5-6 seasons (cheers Sky!) and yes he was more than handy over there- I'm sure a quick youtube search will reveal a few of his exploits including a couple of rather tasty free-kicks! I actually nearly wet myself when I saw that Arsenal were wrapping up a £16m deal for him. biggrin

Cracking player, and if he had chosen Madrid over Malaga (they were reportedly rather interested at the time) I fear Arsenal wouldn't have got a sniff!

As a midfielder you don't generally get 48 caps & 8 goals for this current Spanish national side unless you are pretty special.

I still can't belive he only cost £16m

He was in Zonal Marking's European Team of the Season http://www.zonalmarking.net/2012/05/30/zms-europea...

Real tried to sign him a few years ago I think.

He could definitely play for either of the bis Spanish clubs but do you want to sit on the bench ? Not everyone does.

Good win last night but was I the only one who couldn't believe that every ball into the box we had Vermaelen on to Carroll, wtf is the point of having Mertesacker if we don't use him to our advantage in games like this. The amount of high balls Carroll won either from corners in defence or in our box was rediculous, I think we had 15 corners in the end and one of players got their head to a ball once. Also our zonal marking is suicidal giving teams a free run at every corner, we were dead lucky that Carrolls one header on target was pretty much straight at Mannone.

Jack played another 70mins today. Hearing very good things on his level of play, just needs to get up to match fitness. The U21 reading manager apparently said that he was on another level compared to the rest of the players on the pitch. Sagna also played, I think after this two week break arsne will start to introduce both to the first team. Good news indeed biggrin

Watched highlights of the U-21 game earlier. Some great touches from Wilshere. He did a lovely back heal to set up one of the chances. His vision really is incredible.

Stand out performer for me was Gnabry. He looks like a properly decent player. If Theo does go in January, we have a ready made replacement in that young German. In an interview a few weeks ago Wenger was heaping praise on the lad and said he plans to get him some games with the first team and that he will possibly feature in the Champions League. He's that good apparently. Took his goal the other night really well.

In previous years substitute 'RVP' for 'Koscielny', 'has' for 'may' and pick any limb for 'knee' hehe

Jenkinson. Gibbs. Ox. Theo. Wilshere.

Anybody else notice the english talent we now have? Makes a change from the past. Saw an interview with Wenger where he said that his target is to get 60% of the squad British (or something along those lines). This is why I think he will move for Carroll if Theo goes to Liverpool.

Yes and there are a few very promising youth players too. Not forgetting Ramsey is a Brit too!

I'd be surprised if he went for Carroll, as we saw he's very strong in the air just not sure he has the pace/touch/movement that Wenger wants in a striker.

There have been a lot of press stories this week saying Wenger is looking to spend some of the famous transfer kitty in January.....let's hope he does. Still think we need a more experienced back up to Scezzer between the sticks.
