littleowl said: My take on this as an Owls fan is that whoever finished on 90 or more points deserved to go up. Blades deserve to go up & I would much rather play them next year than Stevenage, Udders Feeled or the MK Donkeys...
I'm honest enough to admit the loss of Evans worked in Wednesdays favour & affected them...we'll never know if they would have picked up more points had he not been in the chokey....
I don't subscribe to theory that they are a one man team....if they don't go up via the playsoffs then there is not a lot wrong with that team - if they can keep that team together next season & find a suitable striker to replace Evans then I would expect them to take automatic promotion.
I dont agree pal. 89/90 season when we were relegated from the prem (1st in old money) and the pigs were promoted made for a ver very long summer for me that year. What previously was a simpering dislike then developed into full scale hatred thats still present now. United love this 'us versus the world' routine and simply continue going on with a chip on their shoulder. Batlle of brammal lane? Tevez affair? Threatening to sue sheffield city council after the world cup bid went to us? supporting evans despite his conviction? .....I could go on..... I dont subscribe to this 'its good for the city' malarkey, I want us to continue onwards and upwards and the pigs can rot in league one for me. I hope Huddersfield come up through the play offs as we had 2 great games against them this season. Even united fans think thy're a one man team...now!

I think you need some therapy to sort that hatred issue out. It'll just eat you up man. And besides you guys are soooo much the bigger club anyhoo, so why bother with such minnows as us. Not sure about the 'us against the world' thing either. The Tevez shenanigans was quite rediculous and we deserved to go down. And I'm not sure which United fans you've been speaking to but noone I know says we are a 'one man team'. And noone I know supports Evans either, except for one or two of his fellow (errr...ex) players (who will themselves soon become ex players too), who are now being dealt with by the authorities and quite right too.

I simply can't bring myself to hate the Blades anymore. They have provided so much entertainment down the years - you can add Reg Brearly, Paul Whitehouse/Woolhouse (?) and various other shysters they have had on their board to the footballing matters you have already highlighted, not to mention the events of the last 2/3 weeks. The Tezez affair and the resulting fallout was ridiculous - for all the whinging about West Ham, the fact that is always overlooked is : IF THE BLADES HAD DRAWN AT HOME WITH A (10 MAN) WIGAN ATHLETIC THEY WOULD HAVE STAYED UP & SENT WIGAN DOWN - WEST HAM DO NOT EVEN COME INTO THAT F G EQUATION.....you'd miss them if they were gone. I don't mind if they do well as long as we're doing much better. Anyone who finishes 3rd on 90+points deserves to go up to my mind & I would say the same if it was any of the other teams in the division. For what it is worth I think that the 'Ched' effect will linger awhile longer & they won't do it - I have a sneaky feeling it might be Stevenage...

I'm really not sure why that is, it's quite bizarre and annoying. I don't like to think too hard about why I support United cause logically there is no real answer. I guess it is akin to taking drugs.....you know it's wrong and it will not end well but you can't help doing it......

[quote=mybrainhurts Sheffield United even pissed off Mr Hitler in days gone by... [/quote] I believe that the surviving members of the Luftwaffe Bomber that did that were given 'honorary season tickets for life' by the Wednesday board in 1946.... Mind you, I know it caused 3 shillings & sixpence worth of improvements at the time, but when are they finally ever going to get round to fixing it?

Don't think they're going to fix it. I mean, would you when there could still be unexploded bombs under the stadium...? Any road up, don't mention the war... They might panic...

The 'us v the world' thing comes directly from the bladesmad site. Huddersfield looking good at the moment

Balls.
Impressed by the majority of blades that clapped our players at the end.
However, its the minority that invaded the pitch only to goad us that can FRO.
3 great trips to Sheffield though and I hope United stay down just so we can have another weekender up there.

Pitch invasion???
that wasnt a pitch invasion it was a family reunion!
21,000 for such an important match is very poor.

On that showing last night....I'm not sure why they have given us 39,800 tickets for the final?
Not sure why Wednesday fans are so abusing though? (RE: S*it Club, no Fans). You are much bigger and better than us, so why bother with the abuse?
