Once Barca and City are assured of progressing Celtic might find any games left against them easier to get a result in. Like the last Celtic win v Barca at Parkhead.
The fact there's only 4 teams in the league it's hardly likely that two teams will be assured qualification early. Even then they'll be vying for top spot in an attempt to gain an easier draw in the last 16.I wouldn't write the Germans off from going through ahead of City.
The night Barcelona lost at Celtic park they put out their full team and played very well. They didn't let off the gas as you suggest.
After losing to Celtic they needed to get a result from their last games to guarantee qualifying first.
The same year Celtic lost in Barcelona to an injury time goal. Barcelona had at many efforts at home as they did away.

I was there as a neutral. Obviously we won't agree on either the quality or intensity of Barcelona that night. Let me say, however, that one of the reasons I was there was to watch LM live in his pomp. I'd still like to watch that. Because whilst he was in the team, and whilst it was a strong team on paper, they were flat lifeless and uninspiring. Not that the foul weather helped, but I am pretty sure Barca had already qualified and my abiding memory was of a team who were only there because they were obliged to be there. Very cynical attitude. I should also say that I paid quite a lot for a visitors end ticket. A Barcelona pickpocket stole my keys (house, business and car) and I really only saw about half of the game because of a very large concrete wall which prevented the other half (not an exaggeration) being seen. Took 'restricted view' (not mentioned when the ticket was sold) to a whole new level. Very cynical again. And I'll never be back.

It's illegal to sell a ticket without stating it's restricted view. A number of tickets have the warning and aren't restricted. I should also say that I paid quite a lot for a visitors end ticket. Barcelona won the group with 13 points. Celtic were second with 10.
After losing to Celtic they won 3-0 in Russia and drew at home to Benfica. So they won the group by 3 points, but won 4 of them after the Celtic game.
Teams are letting up on game 4 and 9 points.
The Spanish press hailed Forster as "the great Wall" after that game. He saved everything thrown at him that night.

I watched Killie v.Rangers tonight and I think it's very clear that there's not going to be any challenge for the league again. They won't finish top 3.
Anyone else a little worried that the drive might drop again like it has in the last couple of seasons?
There is no competition and Aberdeen are still the nearest.
It'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow, but the league already needs Aberdeen to take something.

Hearts and Aberdeen will give new Rangers a lot of trouble in the race for 2nd place but Celtic will win the league by 10 points if they take the eye off the ball but Hibs would have been a better set up to challenge for second place with a decent manager now in place!Anyone else a little worried that the drive might drop again like it has in the last couple of seasons?
