St mirren was missing 3 players from the main squad. Not as bad as made out and big ange fell for it hook line and sinker. Sent out a junior squad and was taught a lesson.

In many ways that was a game that absolutely needed a win. Defo let smacked of a reduced strength Celtic squad. Let’s hope it doesn’t have too major an affect by the leagues end.

Meanwhile, a clean sheet’s a clean sheet… rolleyes

The game was very flat. Celtic turned up expecting to win and were lethargic.

The tactic to get a result from Celtic is to pack the defence. There was no space to play football. It's terrible to watch, but that's what gets a result. It's happening too often now. St Mirren will use the excuse they were short of players, but I was surprised at the team they put out. The reports were they had just a few first team players left, not just a few missing. I see why they didn't get a call off now.

Furuhashi has to be risked in all games until other players are available.

Ross County's first goal last night was a good goal. They look a good enough team to stay up.

I hear the Hibs v Aberdeen game was low quality. The Porteous kick in an incident that should see him getting pulled up.

I watched some of the games today. Looked like a stroll in the park for long enough, but then Celtic switched off. It felt and looked like last season with players not up for playing.

It's not fun watching or playing in empty stadiums.

On that note the Rangers B v Celtic B game has been postponed. Rangers want to play the game in front of fans. laughlaugh (Desperate for the gate money)

After all the fighting over the last few days and Rangers go and do this. laugh

Celtic are running on empty at the moment and when you look at the injury list it's easy to see why.

Its an extraordinary number of players, some more serious than others.

Hart
Bain
Ralston
Taylor
Julien
Forrest
McGregor
Turnbull
Johnston
Jota
Kayogo
Glakoumakis
Ajeti

Hopefully in three weeks time we should have quite a few back, plus a couple of additions.

There is more first team players out than that. It is extraordinary.

I don't believe that it's all down to the style of play. Furuhashi has played that way and Jota will be very fit coming from Benfica. Bain and Hart won't be training and playing as hard. There is something strange going on.

The issue with hamstrings could be down to something at training, but in the main there has been a lot of bad luck.

Training methods have to be looked at. There can't be that many hamstrings without an underlying issue.

St Johnstone's park today was a mess.

The bigots are out in force again with their panties all in a bunch.
They have to realise that Celtic run Scotish football and the new team who spat the dummy out because they cheated and were caught had to form a new club.
They just can’t help themselves they want the B game to be postponed so they can collect the gate money after making plenty noise that the winter break should not be brought forward.
Shagger was wheeled out to talk about sporting integrity when he couldn’t walk away quick enough when the old club died and he was one of the players who had illegal side letters to cheat.

You couldn’t make it up! rofl

Celtic getting some transfer business done early... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59838284. On the face if it they look decent...

Celtic have signed three Japanese players "at the peak of their careers" after confirming deals for trio Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate.
Midfielders Ideguchi, 25, and Hatate, 24, have signed four-and-a-half-year contracts from Gamba Osaka and Kawasaki Frontale respectively.
Forward Maeda, 24, arrives on loan from Yokohama F Marinos, with the move becoming permanent in the summer.
The trio are expected to arrive in Glasgow in the next few days.
"We are really pleased to bring in these guys to Celtic and I think they are players who will excite our fans," said Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.

Now, a couple of level headed, good in the air defenders and we might be getting somewhere.

If they are of the quality of Furuhashi it's exciting for Scottish football.

Makes a change getting some business done early.

Hopefully Jota and CCV can also get tied up on perm deals.

Anyone know why it’s a 6 month loan before permanent signing?

Jota is a no-brainer at £6.5m. I'm not sure about CCV. He's decent, but for £6-7m I think there will be better out there.

At least therangers have given Paterson the bench warming experience that he will need at Everton.

£10m is a lot for someone with so little football experience. He's only played 238 minutes of premier league football this season. It was about the same last season. I've questioned for ages Rangers lack of effort to give him game time for his development.

I've not seen much of him to offer an opinion. He had a couple of good games for Scotland attacking the weaker teams, but he was terrible against Israel.

It doesn't weaken Rangers as he doesn't play, but if he had the potential their fans claimed selling him now does feel it's a measure to cover some of their debts to see the season out.

Everton need players now. A future prospect isn't what they need. It's a lot of pressure on a young guy going into a struggling team.

I do hope he does well. It helps Scottish football's reputation and future transfer fees.

You can now understand why therangers board said they had the funding in place for the rest of the season as they were probably way down the line in offloading Paterson to Everton.

It is illustrative of the amount of money sloshing around in the EPL when posters in the Everton thread are asking who Paterson is, when they’re about to drop 12million plus add ons on him. Mad money, but wouldn’t it be ironic is Tavernier’s hamstring went…
