A bit of breaking news for you from Blackburn tonight - who have made a move for Blackpool boss Michael Appleton.

A club statement from Derek Shaw, Managing Director of Blackburn Rovers, said: "I can confirm that we have made an official approach to Blackpool FC about our interest in speaking to Michael Appleton. This is the only candidate we have approached for the manager's job".
doubt they'll let him talk esp being appointed only recently

Has someone slipped some acid into my tea? Am I dreaming? Someone punch me...

With every waking hour a small piece of me dies, like a leper on a long walk, and I haven't been a season ticket holder or regular attendee for 8 years due to commitments. Christ knows how the faithfull are going through this.

On the other hand we've won 3 in a row since Berg was sacked, so perhaps... nah...

I honestly don't know why you would want him. He may be young but he isn't a fantastic prospect as a manager, he hasn't done or shown enough to warrant the attention he gets.

From what I understand most of the board are no longer talking to each other, quite how they could be talking to potential new staff in a mystery, and who is signing these new players, well?

although the lad on loan from chelsea is apparently good, we've got him for a whole month...

I'd love someone like O'Driscoll to have a shot with your team, but only with a stable bored. He is a great manager and his win percentage over his managerial career is 36% and he has managed some complete dross.

Looks like you are taking Appleton away from us. Not sure what to make of it as a Blackpool fan. At least he won't be taking too many of our players with him as he hasn't known them long enough to learn their names yet! I imagine appy will get a massive payout from you whether he does well or gets sacked though, so crazy people's money is doing the talking yet again!

Not sure how to take the Appleton news. He's not done anything spectacular with us at Blackpool over his 12 games (2 wins and 2loses).

We've had very good games and also very poor games. We've still passed the ball but also been more direct than under Holloway

Assuming he does go to Blackburn hopefully Thomo will get the job this time.

Kean had chance to prove himself. Appleton and Berg didnt.

More managers than away wins this season says it all....

Just spent 5 minutes searching for this thread the search facility on Piston heads is as woefully inadequate as the Rovers Board. And by inadequate I mean st.

I had heard rumours that the reason Blackpool weren't too unhappy with Appleton's departure was that he was a bit of a bellend.

6 seperate managers in one season, including 3 different caretakers, that has to be some kind of record!

They could have at least waited 11 days till we play them.

Blackpool fans could then show our appreciation for him for the 65 days he gave us before walking out on us to bigger and better things.

It is somewhat of a coincidence that our next game is Blackpool.

Wouldn't surprise me if Mark Hughes resurfaced there but quite frankly why would anyone go there whilst these Venkys are in charge?

Sorry, but as a Claret this was a LOL for me.

I feel sorry for you, that's no way to run a club.
