Booey said: It's all in jest. But really. When a players wants to leave he has to go. Especially if made public. In my opinion. If any of the lads who work for me say that their heart is not in it and they want to do something different I want them out of the door as soon as possible to be honest and I imagine the same thing is applicable on the football pitch. You want players who can give it everything they have. That's a shocking statement to make... You have people working for you??

I am obviously referring to the man who throws away the half empty bottle of vodka into the same bin every night for me to pick out.
He works. FOR ME.

Modric can sulk as much as he wants, if he wants out he'll have to actually hand in a transfer request this time. which will cost him big ££ Levy has these player contracts so wound up there is no what modric will be leaving until a request is formally handed in. believe it or not, the chicken badge one wasn’t authentic

How does that actually change anything? Its no secret that he wants to go. To quote Harry "What difference does a piece of paper make? None"

I thought handing in a transfer request was just the player making a public statement; nothing more than a grand gesture. Does it have legal implications?

Players will often have loyalty bonuses built into their contracts, effectively giving them a golden handshake when they are sold. When a player submits a transfer request, they lose the bonus.

It's generally accepted that by handing in a transfer request a player forfeits their percentage of any transfer fee. How anybody can know that without knowing the details of an individual players contract I have no idea!! Loyalty\signing on bonuses are also apparently paid in stages throughout the period of the contract and those would all be forfeited as well. But that again is just speculation.

That makes sense. GOod I hope he does then. He still won't get sold and we will save a few quid. I dont actually care what happens to him now, but I just pray that Levy doesnt give in and sell him on the cheap to save hassle. DOesnt seem like his style, but it is a massive amount of money at stake and if we need the money to move on...

I'm not sure I'd ever want a player who doesn't turn up to training in protest, refuses to go on the team pre-season tour and then puts in a transfer request all within 2 weeks. 3 fines in 4 days if he hasn't turned up today. I guess if you're moving to the best club in the world, they will just assume you can never move up so you want want to leave.

It protects the club if he tries to angle a move away and protects the player should the club be trying to get rid of a player. I know for a fact that the amount of money we are talking about for modric is huge, hence why last summer he didnt hand one in and hence why this summer he still hasn’t handed one in. levy will let him go but will make sure it doesn’t cost the club.

Modrat would probably hope that his transfer affects the club. He has proved by his actions that he has no feeling or respect for the club or its fans.
I hope he goes for top dollar and then fails miserably, ends up in the reserves then spends the rest of his career at Shaktar Donkey FC on loan.

levy will let him go but will make sure it doesn’t cost the club. WHy would a player ever do this then? If he handed one in today, it wouldn't change a thing. His desire is perfectly public hence a formal request would cost him a fortune without any gain?

WHat makes me laugh about this is as folows:
Spurs have said they are willing to sell him for the right price. WHy does he think that Spurs should sell him for £10 million less? If he wants to go that badly, why doesn't he take £30k per week from Real Madrid, instead of £130k per week and in return they pay the £40 million that spurs want? WHy does MOdric think that it should be Spurs who irrelevantly forego £10 million to make him happy? Really odd thought process

I am loosing any respect I had for footballers.
Modric thinks he is bigger than the club, as does RVP.

Modric thinks he is bigger than the club, as does RVP. This. Except in RVP's case it's borne of frustration and one that most Arsenal fans can relate to. He's also near the end of his career. Modric is being a greedy little s t IMO. Spurs would have been in CL if it wasnt for Chelsea's fluke win, he owes you another season at least for me. I'd love Levy to let him rot, but it probably wont happen.

Money always talks loudest. We've seen it so many times now. Ronaldho to rot in the reserves - not for £80m. Tevez for the sack. Not after the money Citeh paid. Modric'll be the same, it'll all be going on behind the scenes & Levy is a master of navigating these waters. I just wish he'd get gone so we can start reinvesting in the side.
