He was alright today. Not always so though IMO.

Nani was better too - seemed to get his head up a bit more often.

Newcastle are flying, Sunderland are not. If the Chavs win this week in Spain then they have a chance of qualifying for the ECL by winning the thing, so Newcastle will be going all out to try & finish 3rd. I don't see them rolling over for Citeh anyway - and they murdered us at St James's in Jan.

Watched the City Wolves game today & Wolves gave a good account of themselves & City didn't look "all that" IMO. They are beatable next week.

Poor defending for some of their goals but I have to say that I think SAF left his substitutions a little too late yesterday. At 4-2 up the game was won and we should have set up to break down any Everton attacks and perhaps dropped one of our strikers into a deeper midfield position playing 1 up using a counterattack strategy. I know it's not in our nature not to go forward but sureing up the midfield/defence and using our substitutions to break up the flow of the game would have seen us through...IMHO. smile

Fellaini was a handful all game and won I think every aerial battle with Ferdinand. We missed Vidic today in this respect. Also Jelavic looks a good player with a real strikers instinct. But I have to say Phil Neville was awesome in spurring his team on when they went 3-1 down. I don't know if the TV cameras picked it up but he was going absolutely mental at the everton players lifting them for their comeback. His was the only voice you could hear inside OT most of the game.

Anyway, it's set up for a titanic battle at the Etihad next week. Personally I can't wait. I think it would be a shame if after all the fantastic games played this season that Monday's game didn't have such importance attached to it. It's certainly not a foregone conclusion that City will win as some seem to be thinking.

We've yet to atone properly for the 1-6 humiliation earlier this season. Now's the time...

Clearly at 4-2 the game was not won. wink The stats show the game as actually quite level, so a draw was probably a fair result, and watching the game backed that up. Fellaini is always a handful, and I agree about Jelavic. The guy is already our top goal scorer after just 8 games. Best 5 million we may have spent? I absolutely agree with regards to Phil. He went a bit mental at one point waving his arms in the air, and getting the crowd, and player built up. he is a bloody good captain, even if he is getting on a bit.

I thought you guys were not as bad defensively as yourself or Sir alex made out. We had some great lead up play, particularly for the 4th goal, where the Big Fella had some deft touches once again to set up Peanuts. I just think that we had 2 teams playing bloody well, and both getting 4 bloody good goals each. Not a scrappy goal amongst them, which is nice for once. Every goal was in my opinion top drawer. Rooney's and jelly's headers, Big fella's cracking 'ave it volley, Nani's deft chip over Howard, Wellbeck's lovely strike, (although he didn't do much else it has to be said), Rooney and Nani's, (I think it was nani), play up to his second, and jelly's proper poacher goal. All great to watch.

The game was a credit to the EPL.

That it was & played in the right spirit too.

But then it was played between 2 proper football clubs.

You know what I'm saying about the game being won...4-2 up with 10 mins to go at home. Losing 2 goals the way we did just doesn't happen really! I have to say it was a great game to watch especially the second half and you guys played some really good football and basically went for us and to say your goals were purely down to defensive mistakes (aren't almost all goals smile ) is a mistake in itself. Your build up play was good and you pushed players forward exploiting the gaps well.

Completely agree about it being a great advert for the EPL. As much as the end result pissed me off, I did thoroughly enjoy the game.

our back four for the equaliser was appalling.

with Nani in the team we offer up more space i midfield and everton exploited that, scholes had to sit back more and carrick did his usual (not damning carrick - he's been ok this season) Evans had his worst game in 10 and I didn't see Nani make a tackle in the whole game - did I miss it?

Young actually does track back and get involved so for that reason alone he was missed yesterday. Nani was decent on attack though. re Wellback - still a work in progress for me - his first touch lets him down sometimes although he did work well with rooney.

I am worried now about Monday - 8 Points up going to wigan is now down to a likely title decider.

the newcastle game will depend very much on the derby result...citeh lose it I think they will lose at the toon, win it and I think they'll win up there.

all to play for but cracks were exposed yesterday - maybe we need a season like the Bins to wake everyone up...?

I know, hence the winky! When it went to 3-2 I thought, "we could be in with a shout here, the way we've been playing", but that little rotter Rooney did his stuff again. Still, getting those 2 goals at OT was as strange for a visiting team as you conceding them was. Score 4 at OT and still not win. You guys are rotters. grumpy
