The Bright side..... If City win it.....
Chelsea Not Champions
Liverpool Not Champions
Arsenal Not Champions
Spurs (!) not Champions
They're the local noisy neighbors, they probabaly hate you more than you hate them (you're the older more successful big brother, they're the younger, noiser, slightly 'special needs' sibling), they've had years of jealousy.
Give them a bone and dont be bitter. If they end up with more points or even goal differnece, by definition, the better team (currently) won it.
Its good for Manchester.

I totally agree - but this sort of thoughtful and balanced logic risks bring the Pie & Piston into disrepute.
All the whingeing about money will run and run forever without resolution. No matter how much logic or stats are applied both sides of the argument will be entrenched in their views and never move.
I'm looking at it this way. Both Chelski and Blackburn have bought titles in their past and even a broken clock is right twice a day, so they get those two minutes every 24 hours, we've proven that you can dominate for longer.
We've blown a bigger lead than this before (Arsenal in 97/98) and others have faltered under our pressure too.
If Citeh do go on to win this (and I expect them too) then they'll have three titles to their name. It'll be a long time before they get to 19, especially with Arsenal, Chelski, the Scousers, as well as us trying to prevent thm winning again. The other killer for them will be the desire other teams show to beat them, something they've not had to contend with before.

But will be expensive. I like the look of that Lucas at Sau Paulo, but he will be costly as well and is only 19. Probably on his way to Barca or Madrid.
Napoli raid?
What an excellent idea! Napoli raid?
I'd reckon Rooney will be warming the bench if Manutd nicked Napoli's front three.
Welbeck and Berbaflop can then start realising their dream of winning trophies... for the reserve team.
Anyways... back to reality...
So chaps, I don't really know who I want in during the Summer, I get the feeling that although Hazard is good he has been touted around most of the European clubs and will cost the earth
If Bale was available at a decent ish price I wouldn't mid seeing him at Utd, although none of his playing through the middle bks he would be a left winger
We need cover for Evra although not sure who
I would like to see another young striker in to replace Berba
Central Midfielders boy do we need some, I have always liked Rodwell also Shaqira from Bilbao looked good against us
Outs however
Anderson - get shot try and get 8-10 mil
Nani - I know he has apparently said he wants to stay forever, I dont like him - 16-20 mil
Berba - I feel for him but he just doesn't play in the Utd way just get what we can for him and let him go and play

I can understand nani being disliked, but he was our player of the year last year ,and when he is on form he is one of the few world class talents we have, top of the league for assists last season, and pretty near the top this year despite long periods out injured.
If we have exhibited any strengths this season it has been our Wing play,it's not an area we need to address.

I rate Valencia and Young higher than NaniIf we have exhibited any strengths this season it has been our Wing play,it's not an area we need to address.
I recko we'll see a mad summer of comings and goings a trophy free year (and for those who call us glory hunters there have been planety of those).....
Anderson, Nani, Owen, Berba, rafael to go....
in?
I reckon he'll spend on a big la liga signing...Ozil - underrated imho but unliekly to move...even one of the Barca stars? dare we even say Xavi or Iniesta - or can we dream even about Messi???? £100m
pipe dreams perhaps but I expect a couple of £20m signigs...dnf we'll get vidic back and it will be like a new player coming in.
the mind toils...

I reckon we will see very little happen in the Summer. We simply have to buy a physical, energetic midfielder but it won't be a flair player like Hazard etc...most likely someone young or maybe that Tiote guy from Newcastle.Anderson, Nani, Owen, Berba, rafael to go....

The club's hierarchy will see the early CL exit as an anomaly. The owners will be fairly content with another second place finish next year along with a decent stab at the CL. Clubs make more money finishing second in the league as they don't have to pay all those pesky bonuses.
The judgement will be that we couldn't possibly be so unlucky with injuries next year so things are a ok, albeit with a minor tweak.
It's not what any of us want but I suspect it will be the case.

What's all this bks talk about us finishing second next year???
Well, City are definitely going to refresh and strengthen over the Summer. I don't think we will, as I said above.
The owners will be happy with second imho. Therefore we won't spend the funds needed to keep apace.
How many more years can the squad overachieve like this year? Especially with Ferdinand, Scholes, Giggs, Park, Evra past their prime (plus Fletch seemingly gone for good). Fingers crossed that Vida recovers.

City have been the better team in a remarkably poor league,I am amazed united pushed them so far as this is the worst united team of the last 20 years.
They already have many more points than several of their league-winning years (14 more than the treble year) with 2 games remaining. If it wasn't for Man City then they would have walked this year.
SACK SAF I SAY!!!
on a serious note united didnt come to the eithad to win. they set themselves up as so many teams who visit OT set them selves up and end up losing.
on the radio last night alot of the united brigade were jumping on the anti-glazer bandwagon again which seemed to disappear totally when they won the league.
it was nothing more than the wrong tactics by fergie.
i still believe however the title will be defined at st james park not last night. that is very very tough game for city especially if Nunited lose tonight.

Shows how bad the league is,I think defensively the quality in the league is abysmal, the entire season has been a catalogue of schoolboy defending from almost every team, the displays in Europe reflect this.If it wasn't for Man City then they would have walked this year.
United should have walked the league ,but constantly beng raped by the glazers was bound to have an impact sooner rather than later.

but yes, agree with you. i think it'd have been closer if chelsea got their arse in gear sooner, arsenal had a crap start to the year, as did liverpool.
