Mine lost 3-1 on the road last night, Two on the bounce now ;/
We won 6-0 last night! Scunny certainly aren't out of the woods yet. A local consortium took the club over when we were likely days away from going out of existence. This was at no cost, but all the clubs debts were inherited and the ground is still owned by Peter Swann. On that front, things seem positive, discussions are ongoing and look like they could be concluded in the not too distant future.
The debt however, remains a big concern. The club's marketing operation has gone into overdrive and there are intimations that our bloated and expensively assembled squad will need to be trimmed. I'm hoping this is a case of getting rid of some fringe players rather than any members of the XI. Having a squad of about 23 (plus 2 loans) in step 2, when you can only name a 15 man match day squad is pretty ridiculous. But I'd be naive to only expect tinkering around the edges.

Four points clear at the top, nine wins in a row (in all competitions), a new owner fulfilling his promises.... certainly a good time to be a Yeovil Town fan even if we are swimming in a pool we hoped we'd never see again. Broke the National League South attendance record on Tuesday night with 6,289 for the 2-1 win over local rivals Weymouth too & I think that may not be the biggest crowd we have all season if the success keeps coming.

Not sure if anyone has been following the Southend United troubles this season... and the awful owner. Club is now sold and took my son to his first game last week, a nice 5-0 win! He was ecstatic, "Daddy, this is the best day of my life!"
Nice 3-0 last night as well. On the up I hope!
knew they had an owner that turned sour which is a shame, sometimes grass isnt always green (as a Saints fan we've had a few bad eggs and good eggs that got turned bad by fanbase) Nice 3-0 last night as well. On the up I hope!
nothing like an atmosphere when fans come back after bad periods.
Hopefully we'll make it to the playoffs which'd be great to go to. No mean feet having been docked 10 points for the financial troubles...

Definitely a club that with some investment will be back in L2.
Decent write up on the owner as my lot head towards their first ever FA cup first round proper game.

As a person from SE London/NW Kent this weekends TV matches give me much to watch. I've a soft spot for Sheppey and it was good to see Sheppey United on the box last night. Shame they went out but they stuck up for themselves and were by no means embarrassed.
My local team Bromley is hosting Blackpool later today and the club from my spiritual home Cray Valley Papers Mills FC is at Charlton tomorrow. I was born in St Paul's Cray and the one football trophy I've ever won was at the paper mill site there in 1978. Under 13s NW Kent Cup final. Good luck Bromley and Cray.
Went to see Poole Town at the weekend with some mates, was a bit surprised they wouldn't let you take beer outside the clubhouse "compound" (seriously, was like a prison so many sectioned off portacabins).. plus the clubs own Bitter was.. well it wasnt good, felt pretty rough after drinking it..
Then to finish it off at 50minutes the flood lights conked out meaning the game was to be abandoned! My first experience of west country footy that wasnt enjoyable, would chose to watch Dorchester/Wimborne/Salisbury, hell, even Hamworthy over them any day of the week..

V quiet in here but dropping in to post an absolute worldy from one of my lot. We've had two losses on the bounce & the well loved manager left for York City last week, so we needed cheering up.

how's everyone's non-league season going ? i've done 26 games, seems like 26 more been rained off!!
really enjoyed the Southern League South Prem this season, none of the teams I go see look like they're going down, plus we might have Wimborne back next season and amazingly Havant + Waterlooville!!

Currently seven points clear at the top with a game in hand but playing boring football and barely scoring anymore. This could be a massive bottlejob or we may just stumble over the line in time. Need fourteen points from seven games to clinch the title.
Still wouldn'tswap being a Yeovil Town fan with anyone else.

We can forget winning the NLN now, Tamworth appear to have that wrapped up unfortunately for us. We should be in Tamworth's position, but they've looked unstoppable all season. I wasn't a fan of their playing style when they came to Scunny, but it worked to great affect. I'm hoping we can go up through the play offs, but its the gamble I'd rather we didn't need to take.
Yet given everything the club has been through this season, we were likely days away from going out of existence a few months ago, being evicted from our ground and the play thing of a convicted fraudster and formerly a charlatan, I'm just happy that the club still exists. Hopefully the run in puts us in a strong position before the play offs.
