AVB is a very good shout. Capello though, hmm, not sure about him, although he'd probably be up for managing us.

FSG get this decision wrong and they, and us fans, are buggered.

Absolutely seriously, Liverpool could be a good fit for AVB at the moment. Liverpool have a young dressing room without too many egos, it'll be willing to learn his preferred way without being too set in its ways, there is not the pressure to win a title as there may be in other clubs and it would give the manager chance to prove himself in a league that maybe treated him harshly.

I don't think these Americans understand the rivalry's in English football, I hear they've been asking the England coach if he would consider club football after the euros(Gary Neville not Roy hodgson)biggrin
Other available managers are:
Mark Hughes
Steve Bruce
Roy Keane
Paul ince
Steve Coppell
Lou macari

AVB would be no good. We're effectively where Chelsea are (without so much money and the CL football). He'd need to come in and manage Gerrard and Carra; who both carry a lot of weight in the squad. He used some bizarre tactics are Chelsea and didn't seem to know what his best squad was. He buckled under the pressure of media scrutiny and the expectations.

Hiddink wouldn't be interested; it would be a massive pay cut, still no CL and I think his ties to Chelsea are too strong.

Maureen, for one I wouldn't want. There is a reason why he's had such a good home record, because his teams are so boringly well organised. Even with the flair of talent in the current Real squad they aren't that interesting to watch any more. Plus he's probably going to go to Utd, or possibly Tottenham (doubtful).

Capello for me is just like maureen, only without the persona. Again, he'd steady the ship and I imagine we'd get a lot closer to top four with him next season, but I can't see a long term vision emerging from behind those thick specs.

At least he'd be able to converse with Kuyt in his native tongue.

I agree with all of that.

See, you can post properly. No need to troll.

The special one would not take the job, but I would quite happily take boring st football & 38 1-0 wins...

I really think that Rafa will be back, with a war chest....

Any of the other middle managers would leave us exactly where we are now. I expect Downing & Adam to be gone very quickly, total dross. Hendo needs to go out on loan, he has potential but needs some attacking confidence, Carroll is starting to grow into a bit of a monster, hopefully a decent Euro tournament will set him on the right track for a great 12/13 prem season.

Anyway, it really is make it work this time or will be mid table for a long, long time...frown

This is depressing. The worst thing is, it seems there are many people who have this mentality..

He just takes hoofball, however effective, wherever he goes. West Ham used to be known as a club that plays attractive footy and I would class Liverpool as a club with a similar reputation that is slowly being ebbed away, this will accelerate with SA there.

Jesus Christ, what a shambles.

Not a single name mentioned that in any way seems right.

Only Maureen and/or Rafa for me.

And to be honest if the choice was any of the other names mentioned vs Rafa I'd welcome Rafa back with open arms.

But Maureen would be good for sts and giggles. smile
