This year Ronaldo is going to take it for sure.

Next year will be defining for Messi.

On form i'd take Messi every day of the week but that's just how i like to watch football played.

Only because messi is injured, anyway despite his brilliance Real didn’t actually win anything that counted last season messi and barca on the other hand...

Another interesting shout would be Ribery he and his team won the treble last year..

That said you are probably right and Ronaldo will win it mainly because of the fact that Messi keeps winning it and its becoming boring.

I think we are lucky to be witnessing two of the best players ever at the same time ,certainly the two best players I have seen in my lifetime,who cares which one is better.

I'm not saying he is but he has had by FAR the best trophy haul this season, CL, League and cup. Messi won the league and Ronaldo won nowt.

But it's the award for the best player, Ronaldo wins hands down. I don't think he will because people love to hate him so it will probably go to Messi still.

In a better all round team though (ps not really arguing here) plus lots of other Bayern players have won the same amount. Spose I just don't get the Ribery loving thats all, no idea why.

I'd agree if he were playing for some mid level team but he's playing for real Madrid for crying out loud, if he's the best player in the world he should be winning them trophies.

To an extent I agree, but the other team in the league happen to be Barcelona who have arguably a better (or same level player) plus better teammates.

Then in Europe you have other big clubs (Bayern, Juve etc) where you don't get your own way all the time.

Exactly! that's point, Messi is the best player in the world. Ronaldo is a great player just not as great as messi.

So Messi should win even though Ronaldo has been the better player THIS year because Messi's TEAM won the league?
You're not making any sense. It's an award for the best player of the year and for this year Messi and Robert don't come close. I get that people don't like Ronaldo but let's face facts.
