Being serious for a second, Wembley is a terrible place to go and lose a match, patchy lately a playoff final. Having also heen there on the winning side too it's a fantastic feeling, I imagine Kinky and chums had sore heads the next day! Well done Wombles.

So Gary Bowyer is the next fool to take the Blackpool managers seat.

He's had experience working with one bunch of fools at Blackburn, so lets see how he gets on with the Oystons.

It was a great turn out by the Green Army; the only time i heard AFC was when they scored. Before that they were tame, but then there wera only about 15000, surely?

Wembley acoustics for you! I was in block 133, row 44 on the back wall and you greens sounded pretty quiet most of the time too! We were pretty noisy for the whole game.

Note to self: Next time don't fling arms in air when we score if in row 44!

Smashed both hands into the sky bet signs that run around the underneath of the tier above. Still have the bruises

Delighted to see smiley Tom Elliott put in a reet ol' shift at Wembley. The blokes deserves it after his injury record.

Bringing back the cult classic 96-98 kit we played Newcastle in has built up some excitement coupled with some interesting signings.

Wimbledon have taken 2 of our better players off our hands though in Chris Whelpdale and Dean PArrett, both more than capable of playing in League 1. Parrett has had a very inconsistent season, mind. Needs a strong manager to keep his head in the game. Whelpdale is just all round bit of class winger who will likely get 10 goals.

Boydie, no offence, but that kit is awful! Appreciate that it's your colours and a throwback kit, but man! My eyes! To make up for insulting you, how about we tonk Luton on the opening day for you? biggrin

Anyway, only 33 days to the start of the season, and we have made some excellent signings. I'm actually very excited about the coming season. Anything less than automatic promotion will be a HUGE disappointment. Both Reuben Reid and Curtis Nelson haven't signed new contracts, Reid I'm not bothered about as he's had a couple of injury hit seasons, Nelson though was our captain but deserves higher league football. I hope he doesn't sign for another L2 club though!!

Haha yeah I can see it, but looking at the club forums it's going to be the biggest seller by some margin.

Here's a good little documentary on the build up to the game which gave the kit it's cult status if anyone wants to see how whiny Prem clubs were even back then.

Our start looks very tough on paper so if you can do Luton over for a few goals to ensure we stay above them, that would be great thumbup

Are you going to win it by November again this season like you did last season?

So what's every ones opinion on the changes to the Football League Trophy (Johnston's Paint)? I know it takes a lot of stick, especially in the early stages but I always enjoyed it especially our 2 wins in 2001/02 and 2003/04 seasons at Cardiff.

Now made into 16 regional groups of four teams with the top two from each group progressing to the knockout stages. I think this might be a good idea.

The other major change is opening it up to 16 category 1 Premier League academy/under-21 sides, although over the last week there seems to be reports that it is in fact under 23's with 3or4 over age players. This change I do not like. The whole point of the Football League Trophy is to allow the lower league teams the chance to play in a competition and play a few rounds and potentially have a nice day out at Wembley.

Anyway doesn't make any difference to me as I'm still on my boycott of all things Blackpool FC related, so again AFC Fylde will benefit from my money. Fylde move into their new 5000+ capacity stadium this season.

Without those six points you'd have been in bottom half of the table mediocrity, not just above halfway mediocrity.

You do know that annual means every year, don't you? Look at the record.

AFC Fylde (originally Kirkham and Wesham FC till about 2007) are owned by local businessman David Haythornwaite who makes his money from Tangerine Group of companies making animal health and nutrition products. As you can see from the company name he is a big Blackpool fan, who tried to buy Blackpool in the early 2000s. Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley is/was also a big Blackpool fan.

They have a target of reaching the Football League by 2022, currently playing in the National League North, so only 2 promotions from getting into the league. They lost in the play-offs the last 2 seasons. Currently get crowds around 400-900 depending who they are playing.

There are/will definitely be a fare few Blackpool fans attending their games. There will be plenty of Blackpool fans there on the 28th Aug when they are hosting the Brett Ormerod testimonial after he rejected the chance to hold it at Bloomfield Rd as he understands the anger and frustration of the Blackpool fans against the owners. He's donating all the money to Gary Parkinson who suffers from locked-in syndrome.

I know, which makes it all the more remarkable against a team that won the league in November. Annual is close enough for twice in three seasons though...

Interesting, didn't realise there was an active Plan B. We thought you were setting the model for us to follow. Will be interesting to see how our new owners and manager turn out in L1. Promising headlines so far:

Nice touch with GP, horrific condition.

We won the November Trophy and you won the Our Cup Final Cup; Devon football is on the up.
