GloverMart - any idea why Owain Jones has not featured for you yet this season? See Shepard is still getting good game time though.
Would be a shame to see Jones' loan wasted (although it's always good experience being part of the real "squad" not just comfort of the U23s).
Hi Legend, Would be a shame to see Jones' loan wasted (although it's always good experience being part of the real "squad" not just comfort of the U23s).
At the moment, it is been wasted good and proper. Our manager reacted to the poor scoring record in January by bringing in five strikers, most of who were on loan and now we have seven loan players! You're only allowed five in your squad so Jones has missed out along with Kabongo Tshimanga who none of us has even seen!
Won 3-1 on Saturday at Morecambe so can't see him featuring on Wednesday night at Barnet.
Shephard has done okay but looks like he's regressed a bit since last season. I'd have rather had Connor Roberts back after his aborted loan spell at Bristol Rovers. If Way doesn't start playing Jones soon, I can see Swansea cutting off the relationship sharpish.
An ITFC supporting mate sent me this link - AFC Wimbledon's programme tonight for their game against MK Dons refuses to even name them on the cover!

Thanks for the update - as you say, something needs to happen soon. He is a promising lad and we certainly wouldn't want his development stunted. At least it doesn't sound like he has done anything personally to not get in the squad. At the moment, it is been wasted good and proper. Interesting you mention Connor Roberts. He was excluded from the U23s match yesterday against Wolves (in which our youngsters became PL2 champions!) so I am anticipating a call up to the 1st XI on the weekend as Angel Rangel is out for the season with a metartasal break and Kyle Naughton is only just coming back...good luck to him!

Jones is just a victim of a silly policy on loan signings really. Most supporters can't understand why Jones and Tshimanga (on loan from MK Dons) aren't getting games given that until last week, we were the lowest scorers in the division. And that's from a team that plays 4-3-3 every week!!
Roberts was superb last season, won quite a few POTY awards at the end of the season. Chuffed to bits that he might be edging closer to the first team, hope he comes good.

I would like to show my admiration for the 527 ( official away attendance although it looked closer to 800 to me) Grimsby Town supporters who made the long journey down to Fratton Park on Tuesday night.
Similar number from Bolton at Gillingham too. Back to back 4-x away wins but I missed them both to prolong the record of not seeing them win in 3 years. Up to Shrewsbury for the next away game where no doubt my jinx will continue. Nice reversal of form tho' in the last couple of weeks, auto spot back on if they keep it up.

Wondered when you'd be on! What a dreadful first 88 minutes....
Thankfully I didn't go, Antony. Seen it all too often this season where we go ahead and end up drawing or losing but today took it to a new level... 3-0 up with two minutes to go, bloody hell. Fair play to your lot though, that is some spirit you have in the camp and Tisdale has turned it right round from earlier on in the season.
No he hasn't. He did for a bit but we're back to where we were again. If we'd lost today it would have been our ninth home league defeat this season, which fits in well with the 41 home league defeats of the previous five seasons. The eleven game run was the only thing we've done in half a decade, and since the Plymouth game we've reverted back to type.
Today was awful. Those three goals are merely papering over the cracks.

Fair enough, you get to see them far more than me. It seemed like that run had galvanised your season but I hadn't realised things had slipped back. That's the trouble with me not keeping an eye on your results, I end up chatting st. Today was awful. Those three goals are merely papering over the cracks.
