Well we won the local derby with Fleetwood, even though we didn't register a single shot on goal. Just a good job that they scored an own goal.

That's now 7 games since a Blackpool player actually scored a goal.

So, Luggy sacked at Yeovil. Had to happen, but too little too late GloverMart?

Sheridan would have been your man, but the Welsh got there first.

Found out on Saturday that Colchester had binned off their manager too.

We scored after 4 minutes against Burton, then conceded 5.

Don't think it's too late, TS. We are two points from safety and still in the FA Cup where we have a game with Boydie's boys again and a JPT area semi v Oxford next week. Two wins from those two and confidence will flood into the team.... silly

Darren Way has it on an interim basis but we need a good clear out really. Worst thing to happen would be if we won those two games yet perversely, I'll be going to both games hoping we do just that. Some interesting names linked to the job... I'd move heaven and earth to get Nathan Jones from his role at Brighton or Lee Johnson from Barnsley but given the club's treatment of his father Gary, he'd be an outsider.

Seems a bit harsh on Sturrock, hasn't he got the early stages of Parkinsons Disease ?
You'd have thought the club and him could have come to some mutual arrangement if that's the case.

Yes he has, but a football club is a success driven business. Whether he has an illness or not, the bigger picture is keeping Yeovil in the football league. God knows it took them long enough to get there. Luggy was sacked at Argyle when he had the disease, he always said he didn't want it to affect his work.

Luggy has always been a bit of an enigma to me, did incredibly well at Home Park in the early part of the century, but he had a lot of bright young things around him, poached by Southampton and failed spectacularly. Since then he hasn't really regained the status he had before. I seem to remember him doing well at Swindon, but that is all. To us at Argyle though, he will be the equivalent in hero status to Gary Johnson at Yeovil.

Difficult one to call GloverMart, don't reckon you have the cash to attract a big name, you need someone who is a boring escape artist - Sheridanesque. What about a Conference manager? Who's at Cheltenham?

Sad to hear about Sturrock, a cousin of mine has played for him at a couple of different clubs (including Dundee Utd) and I got to meet Sturrock quite a few times, he's a top bloke.

Selfishly hoping you don't get anyone in before Sat but you do often see caretaker bosses pulling off improved performances too. We looked immense on Saturday, cruising to a 4-1 lead (we even missed 2 penalties!) over Morecambe before resting some key players for the last 15 which saw Moecambe bring it back to 4-3 which would have been nervy if their third wasn't the last kick of the game.

My borther's car's EML has decided to make an appearance so the VX will be getting a nice 330 mile round trip on Saturday, hoping for some half decent weather!

Bring your coat, it will be p***ing down. Are your tickets for the uncovered terrace or the stand at the side?

Darren Way will get them going because he's a passionate dynamo of a man but enough to get past an improving Stevenage side that's scoring goals? I'm not sure. I'd say we were more likely to win with Way than Sturrock but whether we can knock you out, I don't know. As a Yeovil fan, will be fascinating to see what personnel he chooses for the game.

Re Sturrock. His Parkinson's is affecting him more than one might think. I've seen press conferences where he's kept his hands under the table so the press don't see them shaking. He had a cold as well recently that knocked him sideways and I'm not sure he was up for the fight in terms of energy, commitment and also hard work.

GM, are you coming down to HP on Boxing Day?

If so, might be able to give you a lift. PM me.

I think I saw somewhere the terrace is going to be closed for the game, we'll only bring 100-200 down I suspect unless the recent performances and finally getting our first away win of the season least Tuesday might persuade a few more.

Sad to hear that about Sturrock and I hope his health holds.

Hi TS, that's a kind offer, thanks. To be truthful, I'm not sure where I'll be on Boxing Day.... triple split family, two football matches and a dying distant relative tends to complicate things a little.

I'll let you know though, kind offer thanks.

So, Pompey in to the third round then. I fancy either Eastleigh at home (local spice and way less aggro than Saints), or Arsenal away please (money!).
Any Accrington fans on here? Two things - I cannot see what the fuss is about Josh Windass, secondly your team is the most niggly I've seen this season; shame because I think you've got good players. I think you'll be in the top half come May next year.
Mike.

Altrincham have already scored against "the worst defence in the league"

Final score are showing all today's FA Cup goals straight after they've gone in.

Was a good goal though, chipped our goalie off his line.

Colchester at home to Charlton in the 3rd round.

I looked at Charlton's league stats and they are almost as bad as ours, although they haven't conceded 49 goals.

Might get us a result depending on which Colchester team turns up,the bad one or the atrocious one.

Hey Boydie, you're a little bit quiet this week.... hehe

Seriously, you can have the tie. Bloody Carlisle away is a shocker of a draw. We got Man U at this round last year so we weren't due a biggie but that is ridiculous.

Haha yeah I've been waiting for you to have first word.

Wonderful drive down - despite the sat nav sending us down a single track road a mile from the ground only to be met by a pad locked gate.

Awesome hospitality in your marquee - hog roast rolls were a delight.

Then as the case with so many away days, let down by the football.

Thought we started well but the striker Gnanduilet was having a bit of a stinker so any good attack broke down as soon as it reached him. Your subs changed the game in your favour and for 15 mins or so we were screaming for changes to get back in the game before your inevitable well taken goal and only then did he make the changes! You guys then bossed out the final 5 and injury very effectively.

Sheringham came out saying he never felt we were in danger which has riled a few feathers our end as it was so clear we were. Out of all cup competitions with just one win (even went out of the Herts senior cup last night fielding an embarrassingly strong squad of fringe players to Ceshunt!).

Gutted for you an Carlisle. Both of you are clubs I've a little soft spot for that deserved something better in the draw given the st you guys have endured and the abuse Carlisle have taken from the storm.
