Why do L1 and L2 finish on different days ?

irkedannoying.
So Sky can show important Championship games on the Saturday lunch time, an important L1 game(s) Sunday, and don't give a monkeys about L2, so they can kick off at the normal Saturday 3pm time when they cannot show live games.

Yes, blew that big time, haven't seen the highlights, were you unlucky ?
I wish we [Pompey] were playing you in the play-offs now, I think mentally it will leave your players in a sorry state and yet you need to lift yourselves in just a short space of time for 2 or 3 massive games.
Not to sorry we ended up 6th, I don't think we could have coped with the pressure at home in the second leg.

Wow! Wow! Wow!

What an afternoon that was.

I thought Oxford would be the team to slip up. Feel sorry for Accy.

Unbelievable scenes at the Memorial Stadium when that 92nd minute winner went in. Better than promotion at Wembley last year.....yes I think so.

Our fans managed to close the main Gloucester Road with their celebrations. The winning goal scorer was carried shoulder high down the road as was our new multi millionaire owner and president.

Good luck to everyone in the playoffs.

UTG!

Congrats, you're still in this thread though wink

I was constantly checking the other scores (I'd lost interest in the game in front of me smile ) and saw your late winner. From a selfish point of view and assuming we're still in this league next year I wanted you and Oxford to go up as I think you'd have both been a threat again next year.

Also, even though we (Plymouth) have royally cocked it up this last ten games, I think the high from winning 5-0 against Pools will stand us in good stead for the playoffs.

Well we did it, Oxford United are going up (up up up )
What an amazing season.
Beating Swansea in the FA Cup 3rd Round.
JPT finalists against Barnsley.
Runners up in league 2.
This in spite of (or because of) 59 games in total (I believe) and
with massive injury problems in the final quarter.
The strength of leadership in Michael Appleton and Chairman Darryl Eales ,the squad and backroom crew showed through in the end.
Here's to 16/17 and another sporting, entertaining season of great football.
Good luck to all in the playoffs.

So its either Blackpool or Fleetwood down from L1 to L2.

We need to win away at Peterborough and hope Crewe can beat Fleetwood. So looks like we are going down to L2, and I couldn't care less. Our tactical genius of a manager will probably play for a draw.

Think I'll go and watch AFC Fylde hopefully beat Harrogate in the second leg of the Vanarama National League North play-off semi, Fylde are 1-0 from the first leg.

Colchester signed off their L1 stay by narrowly avoiding going into 3 figures of goals conceded...rolleyes

99.....and -42 goal difference......pathetic....rolleyes

Properly enjoyed Saturday at Home Park. A 5-0 win has got to put the team on a high for Thursday at Fratton, especially as Pompey didn't exactly go out with a bang on the last game of the season. Then Sunday at home and I'll take either Stanley or Wombles at Wembley.

But let's be realistic here, this is Argyle we are talking about hehe

Wow, Wilder given permission to talk to Charlton, he isn't wasting any time!
He'd be mad to go there though, far to much upheaval and unrest. Clearly not that interested in sticking around at the Cobblers though.

no we just didnt show up first half - 2nd half we slowly got goin - but too little too late

i think the nerves of the event got to the players. the whole club feels like its a relegation even though we're in the play offs and if offered this at the start we'd have jumped at it.

mentally its taken a huge toll on the players no doubt about it. afc will be wanting this game to come as soon as.

Stevenage somehow finished 14 points clear of relegation on the back of some excellent defensive performances albeit hapless in front of goal.

Glenn Roeder coming certainly appears to have had a good effect at that end of the pitch... now with the news he is remaining as advisor, if we can make some progress to the attacking side of our game then we should be pretty good next season.

I saw the highlights, you looked a bit unlucky from what I saw, hit the bar a couple of times ?
As you say, the players looked choked at the end, need to try and lift themselves, which will be very tough.

I'd happily face Accrington at Wembley, we've drawn once and beaten them twice this season.
Just the small matter of Plymouth first - it'll be close I think.

That's odd, considering that it's The Dons that will be there bounce

dude

you've mis-spelt. Its Stanley. Not The Dons.

its ok happens to everyone.

saying that i'd rather face plymouth too

lotta beef between accrington and portsmouth back room staff - that would cloud the judgement and we'd lose.

This time last year I was at a BBQ shortly before flying down to the Falklands for sis months. We struggled against Wycombe in the first leg and were blown away in the second - when I landed and got into my room we were midway into being stuffed in the second leg. I hope this year will be different.
