Nice one.

I was going to bump this thread on Saturday but as per usual had nothing positive to say.

We did score one of the first goals in L2 after 4 minutes.

I looked in L1 first of all,I forgot.....loser

Expecting to stroll over Crewe after a good preseason... only to be out thought and out fought over the 90 mins. Crewe were impressive, with a lad on loan from Chelsea who came off the bench and converted their dominance into chances as he finished with an assist and a fine individual goal.

With Ipswich starting impressively and naming a strong squad, I wasn't expecting much... Ipswich 0-1 Stevenage.

Well, fk. Gutted now I'm on holiday for round 2, I'll be really gutted if we draw Watford/Chelsea away.

I saw Crewe beat Shef United away too, backs up how they looked on day 1 to me.

So, another three points. It looks as if the Os did us a favour with two reds early on.

Exeter for the drop?

Earth calling Moxey, come in Moxey.

Well, another result for Plymouth, and we didn't need two sending offs to seal the deal. Don't get me wrong, we have been here many many times before but 1/6 of the season down (as I have been reliably informed) and I'm happy with how we are performing.

Could have started the season a little better, but still....

Steady on mate, look where we were last year this time.....

If we are five points clear at the top going in to March next year, then I'll buy the champagne!

There's currently severe IT problems in Exeter.
Yes we're going down unless the club pull their fingers out and either bin off Tisdale or allow him to sign some fit players in January. The club management seems to have gone completely stale and run out of ideas.

Your start does look promising, careful with the champagne though, if I recall correctly you Janners had drunk the cupboard dry by last November then promptly fked it up. biggrin

You didn't note the tone of caution in my post then? I have seen this kind of form since I first went along to watch them in the early 80s. Getting up a head of steam is a good thing though, no?

Sorry, don't understand the quote, is it something to do with one D. Moxey, ex-Exeter, currently failing to pull up trees at the Macron (as he has failed to do ever since we signed him) ?

No, it's me, who's an Exeter fan (and no relation to Dean). As for Selym, bless, considering what the poor soul's had to endure over the past half a dozen seasons or more it's nice that he's got something to cheer about at last.

Have lyou lot booked your open topped bus yet?

Compared to what your lot have had to endure, we have had a ball. One thing I suppose, your average attendance will be in order for when you are languishing in the fifth tier.

No. you haven't. You're just coming out of your lowest period in your history, you virtually went bust thanks to your Japanese investors banking on a successful World Cup bid and, despite winning the league by this time last year you haven't had a promotion in donkey's years. Christ, it wasn't that many seasons ago you finished lower than us, and also were in the division below us and twice in the last three seasons we've done the double over you.

So no, I don't think compared to us - compared to anyone for that matter - you've had a ball or anything like. Shame really for a town three times bigger with a whole county all to itself as a catchment area, there's plenty of much smaller clubs who've enjoyed much, much more success. Still, at least you can proudly hold on the record as the largest city in England never to host top flight football, a record that's as likely to broken any time soon as Usain Bolt's 100m time.
