Don't get confused between things that are illegal and things that the FA take action against. Rio Ferdinand was, quite rightly, not prosecuted for the tweet, nor were any of the others you mentioned.
However, the FA has their own rules, which the players agree to, and the tribunal decided that Rio had indeed brought the game into disrepute with his tweet and levied the fine that they set out for that.
Very good points! However, the FA has their own rules, which the players agree to, and the tribunal decided that Rio had indeed brought the game into disrepute with his tweet and levied the fine that they set out for that.
John Terry innocent in a court of law
FA pursue same charge against him. Nothing like wasting money / time on this again.

That's missing the point completely. The criminal charge and the FA charge are two completely different things, decided on a completely different basis with a different level of proof required.John Terry innocent in a court of law

Surely that is the point? The court with the higher requirement of evidence finds him not guilty, but the one with the lesser requirement could find him guilty? The FA should just charge Terry and A. Ferdinand with bringing the game into disrepute simply for the language used, as they have done with Rio.

I agree with you. I thought Hackney was implying that it was a waste of time the FA charging him.The FA should just charge Terry and A. Ferdinand with bringing the game into disrepute simply for the language used, as they have done with Rio.
Will be interesting to see what Terry gets from the FA.
