Good results but ste performance which is reminiscent of last year. We can't defend and a new defender can't come quickly enough.
I thought we defended very well against WHU. The goal they scored was only scored because Collins fouled Cahill just before he got his shot away.

Well its a step forward. We are winning games we would have lost or drawn last year.

Went to the Bristol Rovers match last night. We made very hard work of it. Not very inspiring. Batshuayi looks a handful though.

I agree, my wife and I took the kids and found ourselves seated next to the VERY noisy Bristol Rovers fans. Their language was very "colourful". Hahaha

Their support was pretty impressive.

It certainly was. The Chelsea fans were quiet in comparison. What made me laugh was when they were all shouting "Shhh, we're in a library, Shhh, we're in a library"

It's all true. But you need to put it in context. This was the biggest game for their fans in bloody years. For us, it was one of our least glamorous. That sounds flash and condescending but it's true.

Like when we got those FA cup ties against Liverpool in the 70s and 80s, Clive walker and all. It was massive for us, but for them, Chelsea in the cup...boring...they were hoping for Everton, Arsenal, Leeds, Man U or someone decent.

Still need a defender though. The problem is that PL clubs have shown they're prepared to spend tens of millions for ok players, so foreign clubs know they can just keep rejecting bids and holding out for more.

Looks like some bloke called Alonso is on the way, along with another chappy by the name of David Luiz apparently!

Luiz is a liability. Christ knows why they want him.

I'd be quite happy to have David Luiz back. I don't remember him letting us down too often. The odd error but no more than any other defender. And add in some great free kicks. And his CL penalty under pressure in the shoot out when Mata had missed the first one.

Short memory. He played us into trouble so many times.

The advantage with Luiz is you know what you are getting.... the disadvantage is you know what you are getting!

He just doesn't seem a Conte type player though.

He also saved the day many times as well.

Also weirdly excited about this as I have missed the bloke. We couldn't complain about £50m though! Certainly missed his passion and commitment last season
