I sent the wife and kids to their room last night so as not to disturb me, then they all came a running at my yells when Ba scored. My son informed me this morning that apparently as he entered the room I was (badly) doing a jig hehe

Guys, its nice to see the love in the room rather than the usual bhing and back biting smile

Brilliant result last night. Great performance and real desire shown, let's hope they can bring that to all the remaining PL games and hope Hazard is ok.

Tonight's tie is interesting and again shows the flaw of Tika taka football, 1-1 on the night, could go either way.

The Spanish national side seem to function ok using it. In Barca's case, the flaw is more around a somewhat half hearted coach who's definitely staring the archer in the face. He's tried to change things, but without a sea change or the required intensity, so it isn't really working.
Will be interesting to see if they're sufficiently brave (and so correct) in choice of replacement.

ETA - For a relevant angle to you chaps, if you trade Courtois for Costa, somebody wants shooting. A decent Andy Carroll or likely best goalie in the world for 10+ of the next couple of decades scratchchin.

Atletico probably seems 'easiest' on paper. Despite the fact they've a great shout of taking La Liga title...

Cliche alert! There's no easy tie at this stage, so it doesn't really matter - we'll play 2 of the three anyway if we make the final.

Interesting situation with Courtois , seems they will not play him if they are drawn against Chelsea.

Just been Talksport that FIFA have said we cannot prevent him playing...

On another note, how the hell does it take so long to pick 4 balls out of a globe?

They can play him at a cost of 3m Euro's per game to Chelsea but apparently Athletico cannot afford this, seems awfully harsh on the player .

The loan system really does need sorting out

Always better to play at home for the second leg. I'm glad we didn't draw Bayern, but, and this is a big but, if Real beat them, and we manage to beat Atletico, I can imagine TSO would be well up for a Chelsea / Real final. He's got a point to prove.

Although I keep on thinking of the Supercup a couple of seasons ago.....

Hence the reason why I said he wont play.

UEFA said:
Regulations contain clear provisions which strictly forbid any club to exert, or attempt to exert, any influence whatsoever over the players that another club may (or may not) field in a match.

It follows that any provision in a private contract between clubs which might function in such a way as to influence who a club fields in a match is null, void and unenforceable so far as UEFA is concerned.

Furthermore, any attempt to enforce such a provision would be a clear violation of both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations and would therefore be sanctioned accordingly.

The best possible draw for you guys. All things being equal you should just edge the tie over the 2 legs.
