Who was the manager then? Different times. Besides, had you asked me, I would have agreed that two wrongs don't make a right. Still leaves Maureen the apex practitioner of anti football.
Mourinho is a tactical genius, generally. OK, he makes fks ups occasionally but so does everyone. Anti-football.....you mean like at the Etihad, for example?

Not sure why you put it down to Mourinho defection.
Because Mourinho always plays dull football its why he was sacked first time around.

Genius is such a misused word. Einstein was a genius, Maureen is emphatically NOT one.

Mourinho is a trophy machine there is no doubt about that he just goes about it in a way and with a style that few people enjoy.

I'm not sure why he was sacked first time round. I suspect it was a combination of his football and his 'style' ( for want of a better word) of dealing with other aspects of the job.

It's interesting why he came back if style was the issue. I don't believe Abramovich wants anything other than attractive football. The fact is Jose has not had much time to change things so this summer will be very interesting.

Personally, I would rather we played with style and if we win then great. But I know I am in the minority of supporters.

And just to put all my cards on the table I'm not one of those people who thinks he is the messiah either. I suspect he got the job because he promised he would change his ways and I think the board and owner will get fed up very quickly if he doesn't.

Once Guardiola realises he has yet to really prove , or test, himself as a manager ( in the sense the two teams he has managed have been there before he came )so he has never built a team, then I expect he'll come to us. Two years time. Or maybe ever Brendan will come home smile

I'd say either of these could apply to Mourinho

noun
1.
exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability.
"she was a teacher of genius"

2.
an exceptionally intelligent person or one with exceptional skill in a particular area of activity.
"a mathematical genius"

If only we'd adopte Barca's attacking style. After all, that worked brilliantly against Athletico in the last round didn't it?
Sure, ignore the dozens of trophies they've won in the last 10 years and pick out one bad game.
Whereas we've had a pretty lean time of it over the last 10 years. rofl

No one is saying you can't win trophies by parking the bus and trying to hit on the break. But everyone is saying it's dull and no one wants to watch it.

Mourinho's best achievements have been winning the Champions League with Porto and Inter....I would say actually the way he got Inter to play winning the Champions League was one of the best pieces of management I have seen. That team played in an incredibly disciplined manner and 100% believed in the Mourinho's game plan. I think that's what he excels at....getting the best from a team that is an underdog. He just loves to build the "them and us" mentality.

Does that mean I want to watch his team's play football ? Nope.

Roman must be crying in his Stolichnaya when he watches Liverpool play.

Imagine spending 100's of millions to watch football that would make Sam Allardyce wince.

" Manager Jose Mourinho is among three Chelsea staff charged by the FA in the aftermath of the club's Premier League loss to Sunderland.

Assistant manager Rui Faria and midfielder Ramires have also been charged following the 2-1 defeat .

Mourinho has been charged with misconduct in respect of the comments he made post-match.

Ramires has been charged with violent conduct, while Faria has been charged with two counts of misconduct. "

I am intrigued how they can make the one on Mourinho stick - guilty of extreme sarcasm?!

I very much doubt he does.

He knows football. He knows that had Liverpool been fighting on the CL and League front this year, and playing twice a week, it is unlikely they would be playing the same way with the same eleven week in week out.

Let's see what Liverpool are like next year, when the players have one eye on their midweek CL games, before awarding them anything other than the 'one season wonders' award ( I doubt he was crying last year when they were seventh, or the year before, or the year before...... ) . I'm not saying they won't, just that there is a lot of difference when you play 50% more games a year.

Exactly that. They way it was said and the context means is was insulting and derogatory. I hope they all plead guilty and be done with it. Faria should be sacked by the club. Outrageous behaviour.

I wouldn't post this over there , they get awfully prickly about this inevitability.

Frankly I don't give a toss about whether other fans found the game dull yesterday. Job done, though an away goal would've been better. Minus Hazard our creativity is limited.

Tonight's game demonstrates that sometimes the bus needs to be parked. Bayern have had 75% possession but zero threat. Real may well win and it's good strategy to negate Bayern.
