Torres could be returning back to Athletico Madrid.
Here's a link to the Wail. It's been the main topic of discussion on the various Chelsea fora all day, with many offering to give him a lift to the airport. The story is being denied by Atletico, Chelsea and Torres' agent as far as I can make out.

I hope he does return to Athletico Madrid, this season isn't going to be any better for him.
Certainly time to cut the losses, although we would need another backup striker

As far as Drogba - no thanks. Everyone seems to forget that his last season was pretty ordinary apart from the Champions League.
By Drogba standards, sure. But you can't sniff at 13 goals (more than Torres in all but one season) or deny his presence. 1 year plus a coaching role (don't expect him to play week in, week out) seems good business.
Sure. But you are assuming he might be as good a player as he was even then. He won't be.

We need to move forward and having Drogba back in a playing role is a glance backwards, not forwards.

As much as I don't rate him, I'd rather have Lukaku.

There is a difference between spelling and accents. Besides, it's practise these days not to use accents unless you need to stress pronunciation wink

I doubt he will play much, he'll most likely spend his time in the coaching role.

Hope so. Would be a good addition to the coaching squad , for sure.

20m for a 30 yr old in the form he is in...

You should be snapping their hands off for £12.5m

The Chelsea Chat forum has gone into a near meltdown over this. 99.99999% of the posts on there seem to echo what you're saying.

12.5 million is still mad money considering the way he has played the last three seasons.

To be completely honest, after Torres' first season at the bridge I think everyone (even the dreamers) knew that we had paid silly money to sign him! The fact that we've been offered anything over £10 million is a plus.

His not gonna be full time player, most likely bought in for the coaching role.

You need to read the announcement on the CFC website. Not a dicky bird about coaching, just about playing.

Great to see the Drog back.

I hope he is going to be at least mentoring Lukaku.

And maybe Oscar -- who has looked as though someone has been stealing his lunch money for the last 6 months or so.
