This all points to there being more to it than meets the eye. I'm only guessing but attitude must come into it as there is little doubt he has some ability.

I think it probably also points to another striker being signed. Still a month to go in this window. Lots of time to get something sorted.

To change the subject a bit, the match tonight was a bit turgid, but we won 3 - 1, with Costa unselfishly setting two up for Salah and Matic. He's a bit of a beast when he's holding the ball up.....

The best signing of the summer by far,
BCM said that about Costa earlier in the thread. My 2p worth is that our signing of the summer is going to prove to be Fabregas, because of his versatility and ability.

Last night he played as sort of number 10. In the previous games, he played deeper alongside Matic. (For most of last nights game, that slot was occupied by Van Ginkel). I've been pretty impressed with him so far, and at £27 million or whatever it was, I think he's excellent value. Arguably the best midfielder in the EPL when he was a Gooner: he'll do the same job for us.

TBH i'd completely forgotten you had signed Fabregas, it now seems ages ago & i'd just like to change the name from Costa to Fabregas laugh

Fabregas was brilliant for Arsenal and sadly I don't see any reason why he won't be for Chelsea....he was the stand out midfielder in the PL playing in what was a pretty average Arsenal team. I was gutted when we didn't sign him...and was stunned that Barca didn't get more than they did for him.

Dismal performance today. I can't say I'm brimming with optimism for the coming season.

As someone on Chelsea Chat said, it was Werder Bremen 1-0 and the Ref 2-0. Two penalties that never were.

Onwards and Upwards. It'll be alright on the night against Burnley!

Doh! What a knobhead.
Corrected the link now, although it was a flying save.

Interesting thing is that Courtois doesn't yet have a squad number........ (Per the CFC website anyway).

Real Madrid have him as their target to take over from Casillas as their no 1..

Probably. Might go up on the £10 train deal. My son is going, so quite fancy joining him.

Looking forward to the game tonight - a game of three halves! Never seen one played. 45 minutes against Fenerbahce, and then 45 against Besiktas. Schurrle and the Brazilians are back, and Moses has travelled too. I can see him staying in the squad, as we're a bit short of home grown players otherwise. Anyway. 19.30 on CTV.
